Christmas Cheer

 Hi all,

We have a final challenge before Christmas over at I Love Promarkers. Our sponsor is Dr Digi and I have used Holly jolly Horace.

I coloured him using Promarkers and then fussy cut. I had some wood grain paper, so I cut a panel out of this and layered the image over it so it looks like he is leaning on a bar. I then layered this onto a sparkly card base and added the die-cut sentiment.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

It's a Wrap

It is getting closer to Christmas and the end of the year. So our new challenge over at Creative Moments has the optional theme of 'It's a Wrap'. We want to see gift wrap, or gifts on your creations - or maybe you are wrapping up the year ready for the new one? We cannot wait to see your creativity. Of course you always have the option to play anything goes.

I have used Christmas Present from All Dressed Up

I coloured her with Promarkers and then fussy cut the image. I used a sentiment topper I got free with a magazine several years ago and layered both onto a Christmas image base card. Nice and simple. I did not think this needed any further embellishment due to the base card being quite noisy, so I left it at this.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Forever Friends cracking time

 Hi all,

I have chosen the theme of Winter Animals for our challenge over at MAWTT for this month.

I have simply used a Forever Friends topper and sentiment and added a couple of snowflake peel-offs. A nice, quick and easy creation. (It took me longer to decide what I wanted to make, than to actually make the card).

We have a new challenge started today over at I Love Promarkers, with the optional theme of Add A Banner, with our sponsor being Paper Nest Dolls for this challenge.

I have used North pole mini reindeer.

I coloured him using my Chameleon pens and then fussy cut. I layered a tartan paper onto KRAFT card base. The banner is actually a Christmas ribbon, that I have then placed Rudolph standing on. Finally I added a little foam star.

 Hi all,

It is time for our reminder post at Creative Moments for our optional Winter theme and I have used a Becky's Place image called Woodrow for my card.

I simple ruffle cut the edge of the image and then layered a thin panel of lilac paper down the side. I added some snowflake peel-offs onto this, finally layering the image over the top.

Love is in the air

 Hi guys,

We have a new challenge started today over at I Love Promarkers, with the optional theme of Love is in the Air. I messed up and couldn't find the image I wanted to use, so used this one which I already had coloured, as a fall back. I think I have made it work ok.

I coloured the image with promarkers. I then cut close to the border. I layered a glitter silver patterned paper onto a lilac 6x6 base card, aiming for the impression of moonlight. I layered the image onto this panel, turning the orientation 90 degrees for effect. To finished I added a sentiment down one side and alphabet stickers down the other.

Little Penguin

We have a new challenge started today over at Creative Moments. Our optional theme for this month is Winter, and we have two sponsors. Pop to the blog to see who these are.

I have used Pearl the Penguin from  Pattie's Creations.

I coloured the little guy using both water colour papermania markers and wax crayons. I then fussy cut him. I created the background on a 3x3 card by using snowflake peel-offs. I then added the penguin to the bottom right corner of the card.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

In the pink

 Hi guys,

Our new challenge started over at I Love Promarkers on Wednesday with the optional theme of In the Pink. Here is my DT card (sorry it is a little late).

I used Unicorn love from Ching-chou Kwik who is sponsoring this challenge. I coloured the image using various shades of pink promarkers. I then die-cut the image using M&C stitched square die. I used the next size up to die-cut the panel of pink glitter card. I layered this onto a pink base card and use two different washi tapes to finish.

 Hi guys,

Our new challenge at Moving Along With The Times started today, with the theme of Christmas Animals. These can be animals associated with Christmas (good for those of you that do not celebrate Christmas), or animals celebrating Christmas. Here is my card.

I used Hunkydory toppers and a 3x3 base card to make this quick and easy, but still stylish, card.

Vintage Christmas pocket

 Hi guys,

I have decided to start working through a paper pad that I got free with a magazine a few years ago, and this is my first creation.

I used a pale blue base card and layered a golden patterned paper from the stack over this. I then used a fineliner to 'stitch' this paper to the card base. Next I used a gold with filigree paper from the same pack to make the pocket, just cutting diagonally across the corner. I 'stitched' around the attached edges and then adhered this at a slight angle. Finally I cut out the sentiment panel and 'stitched' the edge of this also. I chose a sentiment panel with a pastel green/blue tree to match the card base. I then added a green snowflake topper and a purple snowflake sticker.

Bug collecting @ Creative Moments

 Hey guys,

Just a reminder that our current challenge is still open over at Creative Moments, with the optional them of 'It's Alive' - perfect for the Halloween season! Our lovely sponsor is Polkadoodles.

Here is my creation using one of their ladybird digis and a jar from the same collection.

I coloured the image using promarkers after layering the ladybird onto the jar on the computer and printing. I then fussy cut the image. I matted black card onto a pink card base, and then added the image to this. I added a spider and two ladybirds, and hand write the sentiment, as though on a blackboard.

In the frame

 Hi guys,

I decided to have a play with some of my stash and use a topper as my focus for this card. This topper has been hidden in my stash for a while, but I think it is likely to be a Hunkydory topper (but I am not 100% sure).

As the topper was circular, and I had a variety of die-cut circles in my stash, I decided to make a layered frame for the topper. It did already have a frame on the topper, so I then layered this onto a blue circle to match the butterfly, then onto a metallic gold, followed by a blue patterned scalloped circle die-cut. I added these to a 3x3" card base. Finally I added the little sentiment topper from a Papermania cat pack.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
HappyLittleStampers - Use Dies (all the circles are die-cuts)

Wings in a row

 Hi guys,

Our new challenge started over at I Love Promarkers with the optional theme of wings or tails. Here is my penguin row creation, using Huddle from SheepSki Designs.

I coloured the image using Promarkers before cutting and layering onto red mirror card. I then layered this matt onto a snowflake base card. To finish I added snowflake peel-offs to the image and a peel-off sentiment. The peel-offs and card blank have been in my stash for a while.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenge:

Bugs at Halloween

So we all know that the bugs get the limelight in October, not just for Halloween but because the male giant house spiders are on the hunt for females at this time and so more are seen in peoples houses. Therefore, although the optional theme over at Creative Moments is 'It's Alive' this month, I specifically wanted to make a card that features those 8-legged creatures.

I found this pre-coloured Spider Web Halloween Gnome over at Polkadoodles and knew it was perfect for my version of this theme! I then simply cut the image into a square, matted onto black card and layered onto a scalloped edge card. I finished with a sentiment panel but no sentiment - this will be added as appropriate.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
SOS #507 Franken-card
AYLI - Halloween or Fairies - I do like both and Fairies are more versatile, however I love Halloween and so if I can use a Halloween image, but it doesn't have to be for a Halloween card, then I will jump on the opportunity.

More teacups for various occasions

 Hi guys,

Following on from the card I made back on the first, I wanted to show another couple of ways of using the teacup stamp that I used for that card. I went quite pink with both cards.

For this first card  stamped the teacups onto some patterned paper and then fussy cut. I used three different patterned papers to make banners across the card and the overlapped the stamped image onto these. I added a sentiment and then finally some sequins for a bit of sparkle. (I think I could probably have gotten away with a few less sequins).

For this second card I made a narrow panel using a pink patterned paper and a pink cardstock. I stamped the teacups onto pink self-adhesive X-cut vellum and embossing using Heat It Up! sparkle white embossing powder. To finish I added a sentiment sticker across the card front.

I would like to enter these cards into the following challenge:

Alien invasion

 Hi guys,

We had our new challenge start over at I Love Promarkers on Wednesday - this fortnight it is just Anything Goes.

I decided on a mainly green colour scheme with hints of blue. I used an embossed paper panel from my stash to start. I coloured the image with my promarkers and then cut a wavy edge around the image before adding to the card base. I then just added the sentiment.

The image is from  CFL digi designsAliens no 6.

Tea-cup gilding

 Hi guys,

Our new challenge at Moving Along with the Times (MAWTT) started yesterday with the theme of Anything Goes - nice and easy!

For this card I started with a 4x6 card blank. I layered a linen papermania patterned paper onto some pearlescent green cardstock and then tied some pink rattan around this before matting onto the card blank. I then die-cut a circle from patterned paper and added a sentiment. The cups were with a free gift stamp set and I stamped this onto X-cut self-adhesive pink vellum using a versamark inkpad. I then heat embossed using copper Heat it up! embossing powder.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

 Hi guys,

Here is my creation using this sketch:

I coloured the image (Owl Fun by Hetty Claire) with Chameleon pens and then cut into a tag shape before punching a hole in the top. I threaded some ribbon through this hole and then layered onto a watercolour backing paper. This matt was layered onto a green card base. I then added two die-cut balloons and a foiled sentiment topper from Hunkydory.

Cute in Pink

 Hi guys,

Our new challenge started on Wednesday over at I Love Promarkers. Sorry I am late posting, it has been fairly hectic. Our optional twist is to add a bow, and I think the bows work really well with my chosen image.

The image is from a new sponsor (and one of the Design Team Members) CFL digi designs.

I could this super cute little dragon using the following Promarkers:
Tulip Yellow and Canary; amethyst, baby pink and cerise; metallic green.

I then used my box of scraps and the following sketch from Cheerful Sketches to create my card. To finish I added the two bows.

Jasmine beauty

 Hi guys,

Our new challenge started over at Creative Moments today, and our option is to follow the sketch below. Due to such a low number of entries last time I made my first DT card as anything goes - my second will be following the sketch - but I wanted to show people that Anything Goes is still acceptable if you do not get along with the optional theme.

I coloured my image using my Chameleon marker pens. The sentiment was created on the computer before printing the image. To finish I simply added a washi tape banner.

Here is the optional sketch for the challenge blog - do pop over to see how the DT have used the sketch in their creations.

 Hey guys,

Our new challenge started over at I Love Promarkers yesterday, with the optional theme of transport. The DT have come up with some great ideas, and here is my creation.

I coloured her using Promarkers (Midnight Blue, Cobalt Blue Blue Pearl, Powder Blue, April Shower, Twilight Sky, Moss, Cinnamon, Bright Orange, Pastel Yellow, Cool Grey 4, Cool Grey 2, Warm Grey 1, Icicle, Metallic Red/Gold) and then fussy cut the image. I used some fancy backing papers on a pale blue base card and layered her into the background. Finally I hand wrote the sentiment using a purple metallic pen.

no line reminder post

 Hey everyone,

We do not seem to have many people joining in our current challenge over at Creative Moments. Just a reminder that there is always the Anything Goes option if you do not like the idea of no line colouring (however I would recommend giving it a go - you may surprise yourself).

Here is my reminder card.

I have not added a sentiment yet, but left space for one, as this particular card could be used for absolutely anything.

Good evening,

We have a new challenge started today over at I Love Promarkers with the optional theme of lavender and lace.

I coloured the image with a mix of chameleon pens and promarkers, in shades of purple (lavender). I used a lavender base card and inked a lacey stencil on the edges, using Shaded Lilac distress ink. I used a die-cut that has a lacey effect on the top of the image panel and then added this to the card base. I added the sentiment to the base and then edged the image panel with lace.

Embossed for summer

 Hi all,

Our new challenge at MAWTT (Moving Along With The Times) is to use embossing of any form on your creation.

I inked up an embossing folder and ran a 6x4 piece of card through this, and then inked the edged that were not embossed. All ink is Distress Inks. I then stamped a butterfly and sentiment onto a scalloped square piece of card, followed by heat embossing. I then layered another two scalloped squares behind this first onto the card base.

Die-ing for Christmas

Sorry for the poor pun, but the twist for our new challenge over at I Love Promarkers is to 'Use a Die'. Of course there is always the option of anything goes, as long as you use marker pens to colour an image.

I used a combination of Promarkers and Chameleon pens to colour the image before fussy cutting. I used a My Minds Eye patterned paper to cover the card base. I cut two rectangles of gold card and layered them one on top of the other. I then used an x-cut ornate labels nesting die to cut a silver glitter panel to put the image onto before layering onto the gold. I used a foiled sentiment topper, and then die-cut a poinsettia from red paper. I finished with a green neon diamante in the centre.

 Good evening,

I have raided my stash and made a Christmas card using one of the many toppers I have in a drawer. I think I got this in a craft exchange, or crafting challenge prize.

The topper was already layered onto the purple mirri card and fussy cut. I used a patterned paper from My Minds Eye and layered it onto a 6x6 card blank. I then added the topper and a foiled sentiment. Finally I added some diamantes randomly over the patterned paper.

Summer is here

Well supposedly, but it is a pretty wet July so far after a dry June. The garden is loving it though.

We have a new challenge started today over at I Love Promarkers, with the optional theme of Summer Colours.

I coloured Drifting soul from Ching-Chou Kuik using Promarkers - Cardinal Red; Dusky Rose; Wild Cranberry; Maroon; Pastel Beige; Buttercup; Blush; Lime Green; Rose Pink; Tropical Orchid; Pink Carnation and Grey Squirrel.

I fussy cut the image and adhered to a pink card base, which I used a butterfly corner punch on (after breaking my rounded corner punch!). I then punched the corners of a flower patterned paper to match, and die-cut a frame from the panel using X-cut ornate frames dies. Using foam pads I raised this over the image. Finally I added some stickers and a sentiment.

Wedding period

 Hi all,

We had a new challenge start yesterday over at Moving Along with the Times, with the theme of Wedding or Anniversary, as it is once again that time of year :)

I also have another book review for you.

Hard Road by J.B. Turner

Jon Reznick works as an assassinator for the American government. He has military training and experience which makes him ideal for the job. He is still grieving for the loss of his wife in the 9/11 attacks when he gets a call for a target – all he knows is it must look like a suicide, and the name of the target. Everything is going to plan, until Reznick realises the man in the room is not the target he has been allocated, and there is an FBI agent dead in the next room. Reznick informs his handler and starts running with the intended victim. However, there seems to be somebody waiting for him every step of the way. When they take his daughter, he must start to rely on more than just the military training, and he must also figure out who he can trust.

The FBI are also working a case – that of the missing doctor that Reznick nearly assassinated. They want him back and are willing to do anything to ensure his safety, including help Reznick find his daughter. This brings them into close proximity and has them working together to bring down the terrorist threat on the country.

You get to see into the mind of a hit-man when he realises things are not going right, and the twists in this story keep you guessing. You also get some insight about the main character for the terrorist cell as some chapters focus on him, and how similar what he is doing is to what Reznick also does. A fast paced, action-packed story that keeps you on the edge of your seat.

I coloured the images with a combination of promarkers and chameleon pens. I had printed the images so that the card could be folded. I then stencilled the bells using versamark ink and embossing powders.
