Cute and cuddly?

 Hi guys,

I managed to make a quick card for the reminder post over at Creative Moments, even though I still haven't managed to move into my new house yet, so don't have easy access to my stuff.

I used a pre-coloured image from Beccy's Place. I then fussy cut the image. I folded a Kraft card blank into an easel card, added a strip of patterned paper and an 18 key for the base, and peel-offs for celebrating either side of the image.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
polkadoodles wk16 Anything Goes
craftycatz #670 For a boy
simplycreatetoo #199 More than one fold

Button Nose

 Good evening all,

It has been another wet day here in the South of England, however I did manage to make a card to share with you for our new challenge over at I Love Promarkers

I coloured this guy with both promarkers and chameleon pens, then added a button nose and a button to the top.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
TIOT - Rainbow colours
allsorts - Keep it simple

Fancy Fold

 Hi guys,

We have a new challenge over at MAWTT where we want to see your fancy folds - either for your card, or maybe for your toppers.

My card was created using a kit from a magazine I got a few years ago.

I used the card blank and arrange various toppers to create the scene.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
AYLI - Fav fancy fold - I like the stepper cards as they allow you to have slightly different papers/colours/accents, look funky and are really easy to do
SimonSaysWednesday - Anything Goes
ThePaperPlayers #683 Tic-tac-toe - using the flowers/thank you/pastels row (as I didn't have ribbon to hand

Do pop along to the blog and see what the rest of the DT have created.

Flora and fauna for spring

It is time for our challenge winners and reminder post over at Creative Moments, which means I have made another card for our flora and fauna theme.

I coloured the image using promarkers and then fussy cut. I used a scalloped heart (X-cut dies) cut from lilac patterned paper to produce a background for the image. I then die-cut the butterfly from self-adhesive vellum. To finish I added some hessian flowers to the bottom corner.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
SOS #518 Spring has sprung
MTTC #530 Multicoloured florals
CRAFT #713 Easter/Spring

Use the rainbow

 Good evening,

We have a new challenge over at I Love Promarkers, with an optional theme of 'Use a Rainbow'. I chose to make a rainbow with my sentiment, and also use some rainbow pattered backing paper for my interpretation of this theme.

The sponsor for this challenge is Polkadoodles and I have used ' Bananas about ya' for my card.

I coloured the image using chameleon pens, and also used these to create the rainbow sentiment - I simply used red, yellow, blue and purple to make the rainbow. I fussy cut the image and then added to my rainbow backing paper that was layered onto a 6x4 base card.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

SimonSaysMonday - Food/drink (The Monkey has a banana, and banana is also in the sentiment)

allsorts #772 Feathers/Fur

SundayPostcardArt - Stars (on the rainbow backing paper)

Butterflies

 Good evening all,

I made this card for our challenge over at MAWTT, however I then realised I had used the incorrect theme and my card making stuff is since packed away for moving house. So I wasn't able to use this card for the challenge blog, but I still wanted to share it with you all.

I thought the theme was butterflies, when in fact it is Trains, Planes and Automobiles - do pop over to the blog to see what the DT have made. In the meantime here is my incorrect card:

I started by layering a piece of black card onto a white card blank. As I wanted a chalkboard effect I used some white die-cuts from my stash of a flower and a butterfly. I then added a butterfly peel-off on the white section, which is a black glitter peel-off. Finally I added a domed sentiment.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
MMM #221 Spring/flowers/weather
TIOT - Spring
AYLI - Monochrome or Colourful- While I find colourful easier to do, I do like the simple elegance of a monochromatic card
craftycatz #667 Monochrome

Flora and fauna

 Hi guys,

Our new challenge started today over at Creative Moments, with the optional theme of 'Flora and fauna'.

I used both in my card.

I coloured the image with a mix of promarkers and chameleon pens, then simply layered it onto a foiled base card.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

MMM #221 Spring/flowers/weather

TIOT - Spring

AYLI - monochrome or colourful - I actually find monochrome really difficult to do as I like to use a variety of colours in my work

Thanks for looking and we hope to see you joining in our challenge.

Love and hearts

 Hi guys,

We have a new challenge over at I Love Promarkers, with an optional theme of love and hearts. Our sponsor is Hetty Clare and I have used an image that I am unable to find in the shop for my card.

I coloured her using the following promarker pens: Warm Grey 2, warm grey 5, cool grey 5, cardinal red, hot pink, rose pink, dusky rose and raw sienna. I then fussy cut the image and layered onto die-cut ovals in a black and white pattern and burgundy.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenge:

CAS elegance

It is time for our mid-way reminder over at Creative Moments. This time I have used a Hetty Clare image for my CAS card.

I coloured her using Chameleon markers and then used an X-cut nesting die to cut the image. I added her to an ombre card base. Finally I stamped the sentiment and heat embossed using a lilac embossing powder.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenge:
AYLI - Feminine or Masculine - I find feminine cards so much easier to create

Under the sea

 Hi guys,

We have a new challenge started today over at I Love Promarkers. The optional theme for this fortnight is Under the Sea, so I have used a Mermaid image from our sponsor  Heather Valentin - Colour of Love .

I coloured the image with a combination of promarkers and Chameleon pens. As this was a rectangle design I didn't need to do much else - I simply used an under the sea themed patterned paper to attach a peel-off sentiment too, and another sheet from the paper pad to decorate the front of the envelope.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenge:

CAS flowers

 Hi guys,

We had a new challenge start yesterday over at Creative Moments (I am a little late with my blog post!). Our optional theme for February is CAS. We have two sponsors for this challenge - Hetty Claire and Mirtillamente. I have used a Mirtillamente image - Flowerz #2.

I coloured the image using my Chameleon pens and then die-cut using X-cut large labels nesting dies. I used the next size up to cut a matt from patterned paper before layering onto a scalloped base card. Finally I added the peel-off sentiment stickers.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
audsentiments #310 playing the use dies option
TIOT - hearts or flowers
ATSM #461 Make your mark
AYLI - digi or stamps - as much as I do love using my stamps, digis are much easier to get right! Therefore, I do use digital images much more often.

Thanks for looking,

Easter Carrots

 Hi all,

We had a new challenge start yesterday over at I Love Promarkers, with the optional theme of 'Easter', which is sponsored by  Paper Nest Dolls Digis.

I coloured Owen using promarkers, and then used a nested label die from X-cuts to create the topper. I layered a scalloped card with a patterned paper that looks like the sunshine and then layered the image on top f this. To finish I sta,ped the sentiment onto teal card and heat embossed using heat it up embossing powder.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
MMM #218 Use patterned paper
ATSM #461 Make you mark

Dandelion wishes

Well, my first cross stitch finish of 2024 was this little hedgehog from the Country Companions collection. He was a free kit with The World of Cross Stitching 307 (June 2021).

I haven't done anything with the card blank as I think this design could be used for a variety of occasions.

I would like to enter this design into the following challenges:
craftycatz #664 Make me smile (Dandelion clocks always make me smile - as long as they are not in my garden that is).
MTTC #526 Hobbies (gardening is one of my hobbies)

I am hoping to have a few more finishes through 2024 - fingers crossed. At the moment I am trying to get ahead with my DT commitments ready for when I can finally move house!

It's all hearts

 Hi guys,

Happy February - the month of love. As such we have the theme of Love and Hearts for our new challenge over at Moving Along with the Times (MAWTT), which was chosen by Wendy L.

I have made my very first exploding box card - and it was far easier than I expected (although I did use a ready cut base, so that might be why lol.

This was a craft kit that came free with a crafting magazine and I decided to use the heart toppers for it, alongside a couple of butterflies from my stash. I have had the kit for quite a while and never got round to using it because I could never imagine actually sending the cards - however they fold flat!

I would like to enter this exploding box into the following two challenges:

TheCardConcept #203 New Year Love (inspired by the hearts stacked n the trays)

SimonSaysMonday - Have a heart

I have also started watching Silent Witness again. I hadn't realised that there were a few series that I had missed, and I am enjoying them as much as ever! If you like your forensic, or crime, dramas, then this is definitely for you.

Thanks for looking and I hope to see you over at our blog,

Hugz Tinz

Down on the Farm

Hi all,

We have a new challenge started today over at I Love Promarkers, with the optional theme of 'Down on the Farm'.

I have used Lil chicks for my card, from our sponsor SheepSki Designs .

I coloured the image with the following promarker pens: orange, honeycomb, plum preserve, cool grey 3, gold, maroon, cardinel red, warm grey 2, caramel, chestnut, dusky pink. I then fussy cut the image (roughly) before layering onto a foiled patterned paper. this was in my stash and I believe it was from a magazine. I layered this onto a 6x6 base card and then simply added a sentiment from a papermania collection.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

MTTC #525 Something New (image)

craftycalendar - Anything Goes

sheepski #82 Anything Goes

Fantastical reminder

Hey it is time for our reminder post for Creative Moments, where our optional challenge for this month is *Fantasy*.

I coloured the sheepski 'Acorn Ale' image with Chamaeleon pens before die-cutting the image. I layered patterned paper onto a green 6x6 base card, and then matted a corresponding paper onto pink card, to layer onto this. I added a ribbon to the panel before adhering to the card base. I then added a printed sentiment panel.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
SOS #151 Once upon a time (the papers and ribbon are from my stash)
MTTC #525 Something New in your Stash (Image)

Thanks for taking the time to look at my blog.

I have now finished watching season 1 of The Mist. I found that it was a great revision of the original story, making it a little more thriller, rather than outright horror. The characters are very easy to dislike, with none of them really making you want them to survive (maybe making it more true to life). However character development through the series is good.

One thing to note - there is no season two, however the first season leaves you on the edge of the precipice. So if you don't like being left hanging then it is probably best not to watch the series.

Blue Birthday

They say January is the month of the blues - so I made a blue bird birthday postcard :)

I used a holographic birthday card to make the postcard base (it does say happy birthday across the middle). I then simply added a glitter sentiment topper, and some blue tit toppers, with the main one being from Hunkydory.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Craftycalendar - Anything Goes

mmm #217 Happy Birthday

TIOT - Winter Blues

SimonSaysMonday - Sparkle and shine

polkadoodles wk2 Winter Birthdays

sundaypostcardart - Bluebird

Love Moose

 Hi guys,

Our first challenge of the year started yesterday over at I Love Promarkers. I am late posting as I was out at a music bingo event last night - which was very unique!

Anyway - here is my DT creation using Mortimer the motivational moose from Dr Digi.

I actually coloured him using chameleon pens and then fussy cut the image. I layered him onto a piece of newsprint patterned paper that was die-cut with a stitched square die from M&C (The Works). This was then layered onto a purple glitter cardstock die-cut from the largest square. This was all layered onto a purple base card.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

TheCardConcept #203 New Year Love (Inspired by the theme)

CraftyCalendar - Anything Goes

SimonSaysWednesday - Cute Critter

I am currently watching Supernatural (which is getting a little far fetched at season 5, but still enjoyable to watch whilst stitching). I am reading Dr Alexander Shulgin's The Nature of Drugs, which I will be aiming to review for you once I have finished it. I am also currently watching 'The Mist' the series, which I am almost at the end of, so I will try and provide a review for that for you in the next few posts.

However, back to the live music bingo. This is a Bingo card with artists/songs or both on there (three rounds - first is songs, second is artists and third was a combination of the two). There is a guitarist that plays the song (just the first 30 secs -1 min) and you have to be the first to shout if you get a line/two lines/full house. My team won diddly squat, but it was certainly great fun!

Hope you are all having a good start to the year,

Hugz Tinz

Fantasy in January

 Hi guys,

We have our first challenge of 2024 starting over at Creative Moments! Our optional theme is fantasy, so did out those gnomes, unicorns and dragons and get creative.

We are sponsored by Sheepski for this challenge - do go and have a look at their wonderful digital images. I have used Conversation for my creation.

I coloured by image using a mixture of watercolour pencils and metallic pencils. I then fussy cut the image in order to add it to a patterned background paper. Finally I added some button peel-offs, a dummy and a sentiment.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Inspirationstation #57 - inspired by the moon and the curvy feature of the mountains

613AvenueCreate - New Beginnings (New Baby)

SimonSaysWednesday - Something New

CRAFT #703 Anything Goes

Thanks for looking at my post. I am hoping to start including book reviews and nature/animal stories again this year - fingers crossed.

Something new?

Happy New Year everybody!

We have a new challenge starting today over at MAWTT, with the theme of using a new craft item. Unfortunately, I haven't got any new craft items - however there was a new baby at the end of last year, which I made a birth sampler for. This is a Gorjuss design for Autumn and took me around 50 hours to complete.

We would love to see what new things you have got!!

I would like to enter my birth sampler into the following challenges;
Alphabet Challenge - T for Texture (it is all stitched so there is texture)
SimonSaysMonday - a new start
