Merry Christmas!!!

It is Christmas Day (and a bit cloudy, but definitely not white!) and we have an Anything Goes challenenge over at I Love Promerkers, with some lovely prizes. Here is what I have created for today:
I made a stepper card out of metallic gold Anita's cardstock, mounted the image (after colouring with Promarkers) onto silver glitter card, added green glitter card strips with gold buttons, a die-cut tree with glitter glue accents, a strip of self-adhesive foil ribbon, sentiment and two glitter snowflakes.

As it is Christmas I will only share this card on Winter Wonderland, and Glitter N Sparkle (Christmas with Glitter) as I need to get off the laptop and spend time with family! lol

Have a very Merry Christmas everyone, and do watch out for new developments in the new year!

Kitty in the snow

I have been crafting again - in between trying to finish wrapping presents and sorting the house!

Here is what I have made today:

I folded a patterned base card to make an easel blank. Gold mirror card was trimed to just under the size of the card front and embossed with two separate folders (both free gifts with magazines). I then cut the front from another card that came in the same card pack, and trimmed to the correct size, before adding a Pepper and Friends image to the front. I curled the corner before adding to the embossed front panel. To finish I added the sentiment with 3D foam pads, and two insets from a previous die-cut at either side.

I would like to enter this card for the following challenges:
Merry Monday #226 Winter Fun
Simon Says Monday - Let there be snow

Tragic magic

Hi there,

It is time for our final challenge of the year - #324 is Hats – at I Love Promarkers. Don’t forget we need to see you using Promarkers (or Aqua/Flex/Tria). Our sponsor for this challenge is Dr Digi House of Stamps, and I used Thats Tragic.

I used a sketch from Die Cuttin’ Divas – then realised that my blog post would not go live until after that challenge had closed – idiot lol. However, this was the sketch I was choosing to use:
        (Top left)
I die cut ivy and a branch (Marianne Creations) from green glitter and red mirri card respectively for the side panel. I fussy cut the image and used a doily die (free gift) for the magic coming out of the hat (the die-cut panel). I stamped the sentiment in green Boofle ink using a free stamp set.
Promarkers used – Metallic Purple, Cool Grey 1, 4 & 5, Bright Orange, Ivory, China Blue, Frosted Leaf, Rose Pink and Pale Pink.

I would like to enter this card for the following challenges:
PFP #375 Use dies or punches
Catch the bug – make us laugh
Sweet Stampin’ – Animals
LOC#160 Fantasy Christmas
CCM #179 Non-traditional Christmas
Alphabet Challenge – U for Use something red
Avenue 613 #192 Holiday happiness

My Christmas decorations are now all up and here are some pictures:

With Love at Christmas

Well it is getting nearer and nearer the big day, and my trees are up but still not decorated yet!! It just seems that there is so much to do now I am home and I haven't got time to fit it all in! It probably doesn't help that I absolutely hate my new job at McD's :(. However I have an interview on Tuesday for a job that may be slightly more interesting and may actually use some of my skills rather than having to learn a whole new set for something I am really not interested in lol. On the bright note I am actually at home now and I am going to get the top tree decorated today!!

As it is a Thursday, and it is two weeks since our last challenge, it is of course time for a new challenge over at Aud Sentiments. The challenge theme is Christmas for your Love, so we want to see you create something for a loveld one. I decided to make a bookmark:

Our sponsor for this challenge is The Paper Shelter and I used the Are you ready my friend? image they provided for us. I chose to use the precoloured version as I would not be able to colour it that well myself lol. This was actually really quick to make. I took a square of green glitter cardstock and folded the top two corners into the centre. I then used the strip I had cut of the end (to make a square) and positioned this across the folded corners, to hold them down. This creates an arrow shape which will be used to slot over the corners of the book pages. This can then be embellished however you want. I die-cut the image and some embossed silver paper using X-cut scalloped heart nesting dies and layered these together before mounting onto the bookmark base. I added a sentiment label and a snowflake button to finish.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

CMP challenges - Christmas
open-minded crafting #11 Christmas
card mania - Anything Goes
deep ocean #143 Santa is coming to town
CCM #178 Anything but a card
LOC #159 Christmas Colours
Allsorts #392 CAS

Here is my update on the fish tank, as promised - just over 130 hours:
And some pictures from the staff Christmas meal on my (almost) last day at work!

Thank you for taking the time to look at my blog,

Here is an update on my Dino height chart:
The little dino is now at about 15hrs, with the grand total being over 105 hours now!

I also have a book review for you all:

Fool me Once by Harlan Coban
Maya served in Iraq but got sent home when an operation went wrong. Whilst she was at war her sister was murdered and shortly after she returns her husband is also murdered. When Maya sees her husband on her nanny cam two weeks later she decides to look more closely at the events surrounding both murders. There is a very good twist at the end of the story and it is a very good read.

Ok so the review was sorter than normal, but I really cannot say too much without giving some of the story away, but it is certainly worth a try!

P.S. Fish update tomorrow :)
