Masculine Sentiments @ Aud Sentiments

Hi all, hope you are all doing well and using any extra time you may have wisely?

We have a new challenge starting today at Aud Sentiments with the theme of masculine. Our sponsor is the lovely Dr Digi's House of Stamps and I have used Gramps.

I coloured the image using Promarkers - Dusky Pink, Warm Grey 3, Tawny Owl, Khaki, Frosted Leaf, Lime Twist, Twilight Sky, Sky Blue, Azure, Raw Sienna.

I then added the image onto A Man's World papers and finished with a sentiment topper with added glitter for a bit of sparkle - even men like to sparkle sometimes :)

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
CRAFT #554 Hero (for many people their dad is a hero)
ColormyHeart #391 Three shades of one colour (blue)
MMM #121 Use a digital stamp
Alphabetchallenge - B for Boys

We hope to see you playing along over at Aud Sentiments, and don't forget to add a sentiment - if it is inside your card we need to see the inside also :)

3 dandelion heads and brads @ I Love Promarkers

Hi guys,

Time for a new challenge with the optional theme of 'Use three of something'. I chose an image from our sponsor, Bugaboo Stamps , that had three dandelion clocks on it. I then used three brads to add interest.

I embossed the background with a 3D embossing folder with a geometric pattern. I coloured the image with Promarkers (listed below). I then cut it close to the frame and added it to the card base on a slight angle, adding a doodled line and a brad to make it look like a picture hanging on a wall. I then used two brads to attach the sentiment to the card base.

Promarkers - Caramel, Cornflower, Royal blue, Baby Pink, Poppy and Silver Metallic.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
AHSC #366
Modsquad - Get your Happy on
ATSM #387 Make your mark
MMM #121 Use a digi-stamp
613 Avenue Create #232 Geometric papers (I stretched this a little and used an embossing folder instead)

Thanks for looking,

Christmas bobbin

Hi guys,

I have a Christmas card to share with you today - mainly KRAFT but with a little added sparkle.

I used a KRAFT card base for this card, and then die-cut a Kraft style robbin topper. I die-cut some foiled and glittered patterned paper that I had in my stash. The dies used were X-cut scalloped circle nesting dies. To finish this very simple card I added a merry Christmas sentiment that matched the colours of the patterned paper.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
AddictedtoCAS #183 Animal
CRAFT #553 Christmas
AYLI - My favourite none birthday occasion has to be Christmas because there is so much scope for creating
WinterWonderland - Angels or Anything with wings

As promised here is the audiobook review:
Children of Time by Adrian Tchaikovsky
Humanity has almost completely destroyed Earth and is looking to terraform planets that have a similar composition to Earth, to allow for the human race to continue. There are several planets that have been flagged as suitable, but just as the terraforming project is about to begin a cival war breaks out that causes the project to take a slight turn.
This book then jumps to many, many years in the future and the last remaining humans are trying to find a place to settle and regenerate the human race. They are able to go into stasis and so can travel many thousands of years without aging. However, the terraforming of the planet has done its work and there is a sentient life force on the planet. Who actually has the rights to the planet? Can the last of the human race convince the inhabitants of the planet to let them colonise? Can the inhabitants of the planet trust the humans to try not to take over?
This is a very good book, written alternatively from the perspective of the humans and from that of the inhabitants of the planet, which are certainly nothing like what was expected. It shows how different life may be had something else developed to the degree that humans have on Earth, and how different qualities are evident in different species. A very good read that keeps you interested until the very last word.

April Showers/May Flowers

Hi guys,

A new challenge started today over at Creative Moments with the optional theme of April Showers or May flowers. I went with the flowers for my card to play along. Please do pop over to see the creations from my teamies that were creating for this challenge :)

I combined a couple of different digital images and printed them in sepia to give a more vintage feel to the image. I layered it onto blue card and then layered various different flowers around the top edge to give the feeling of being in the birds natural environment.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Springtime Sketches

Hi Guys,

I made this Springtime Somebunny card to share with you all today.

I stamped the image using a large 'Jewel Box' ink pad I have had for a while. I then coloured the image using my Chameleon pens - but I blended them the same way I would blend promarkers. I layered this onto patterned yellow paper.

I took a white 6x6 card black and used Fired Brick distress oxide spray on the front, topped with an old gold dusting make-up spray from avon. I followed the sketch below and used some papers from my stash to make the layers.

Finally I added my image for the final layer, and then fussy cut some stamped and coloured butterflies to layer onto the strip panel.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
CuteCardThursday #630 Wings
SweetStampin' - Bloomin' wonderful
TheLibraryChallenge #57 A child's garden of verses
MMM #120 Spring Flowers
AYLI - Animals or People - Again for my third entry I have had to go with animals as they are much more versatile
inkspirational #211 paint spatters (background)
CraftyCalendar - Add a butterfly

Thanks for looking, and I am still writing the book review - sorry for the delay!

A little love

I have made a little postcard to share with you all, keeping it CAS,

I used a pink 6x4" piece of card. I blended distress inks over a sheet of white paper - using scattered straw, evergreen bough and carved pumpkin. I die-cut three different sized hearts (X-cut scalloped hearts nesting dies) and then layered them on the lefthand side of the card. I then stamped some images using the same distress inks, from a free stamp set - using a slightly wiggle motion and less ink than usual to get a slightly out of focus appearance to the stamped image. I used cracked sapphire to stamp the sentiment.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
DragonflyDreams - Add a flower/s
notjustcards - Anything Goes
SimplyLessisMoore #117 Out of focus
AddictedtoCAS #183 Animal
modsquad - birds

Thanks for looking - I will have an audiobook review for you next time :)

#249 Birthday @ Aud Sentiments

Hi Guys,

It is the 10th birthday of the Aud Sentiments challenge blog, which means our challenge theme is birthday of course. I have used Cheerful Crab from Fabrika Fantasy.

I used the pre-coloured image. I made a tent fold stepper card from gold to look like sand on the beach. I added the image to this front stepper. I then used some tie-dye effect patterned paper (to look like water) and added this to the card base. To finish I added two beach shell toppers and a 'Birthday Wishes' sentiment - to which I also added some blue diamantes.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
AYLI - Animals or people (once again using an animal on my card as I just find them so much more versatile if I am not making a card that is specifically for somebody)
CountryView - Animal magic

We cannot wait to see what you create for our brithday!!

90th Birthday Virtually

Well, with the situation we are in at the moment our granddads 90th birthday party has had to be cancelled. So we decided that all the family members will create a letter of Happy Birthday in a style that is just so them, and then the photos for every letter will be compiled and made into one big card.

I got the letter T - and as I am known among the family for my wide range of pets I decided to make my letter with my pets.

So the main backbone of the t was made using my snakes last shed. I then surrounded it with feathers from my birds. I then added a fake spider on a piece of Bearded Dragon skin web, stamped a rabbit and drew a guinea pig (ok my drawing is pretty poor, but I couldn't find my pencil so had to draw directly in pen meaning no erasing mistakes!!).

I would like to enter this into the following craft challenges:
SimonSaysMonday - Add some texture
intaas #80 No focal image
TIOT - The beauty of nature
AYLI - Animals or people - I much prefer using animals on my creations. I just find them much more usable. I do also much prefer animals in real life - in case you can't tell :D
SimplyCreateToo #159 Anything but a card
CountryView - Animal magic

Here are a couple of the pets:

Yup, it is also time for a new challenge at I Love Promarkers, where our optional theme is BIRTHDAY and our sponsor is Dr Digi's House Of Stamps. I have used an image called Cheeky Devil for my card for a work colleague who we call a wizard :)

I coloured the image using promarker pens and then trimmed to size. I used some glitter paper to edge the sides and a shiny purple polka dot paper for the top and bottom. Finally I added a sentiment topper to finish. I thought that this particular image did not need a lot of embellishment.
