Hi guys,
I decided to make something a little different to hide some Christmas treats :D
I used a template from a papercraft magazine to make it. I started with Green mirror card and die-cut a scalloped circle, smaller normal circle from the centre and then another smaller circle again. I cut six of the scallops away and then joined the ends back together to make the outside of the mini dish. I glued this to the larger circle and then glued the smaller circle inside for stability.
Next I used the template from the magazine to cut out the birds body from pearlescent red paper. I wrapped this into the cone shape. I used a strip of diamantes around the bottom, two scalloped hearts cut from pearlescent white paper for the wings, a flower cut from the same paper and cut in half for the beak and flappy bit, two diamantes for the eyes and the offcut scallops for the crest. I then used Christmas curling ribbon for the tail. I do need to find some stronger glue for sticking the base together (as you can see it is not quite central due to it keeping slipping) and for the back strip of the birds body and crest, but otherwise I am really pleased with him.
I would like to enter him into the following challenges:
CRAFT #575 Gift bag or box (not really either, but it is for hiding some Christmas treats).
