OLC sparkles for Christmas

Hi guys,

Yes indeed I have another Christmas card to share with you today. I wanted a simply sparkly card and so I used some stamps with papermania gold ink and some silver embossing powder. I ripped a piece of paper to allow a wavy stamped section at the top, and then stamped the main stars over the top of this golden night sky. Finally I added a sentiment to the bottom of the card.

I have used the sketch from AHSC #353

I would also like to enter the following challenges:
CRAFT #542 Christmas
SimplyLessisMore #411 OLC off centre
Christmas@SweetStampin' - Add some sparkle

A little fishy @ Aud Sentiments

Hi guys,

We have our first challenge of 2020 started at Aud Sentiments today! We are starting you off with an easy one - theme of Anything Goes - just remember to add that sentiment.

We have been sponsored by the lovely Fabrika Fantasy for this challenge, and I have used Beta Fish for my card.

I used the precoloured image and a hunkydory card kit for this one. I fussy cut the image and folded the patterned card so that the front was a cm shorter than the back. I then added the fussy cut image to overlap the edge. Finally I added two toppers and a sentiment border from the kit.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
inkspirational #204 fauna
TIOT - white space or colourful grunge (I went for grunge)
CuteCardThursday #618 Green

Thanks for looking and we cannot wait to see what you create.

Summer sun in Winter

Hi guys,

Well winter has certainly hit these past couple of days, but as we have a new challenge starting at Creative Moments I thought I would make a summer themed card to play along with my teamies (my DT stint is for the 7th of each month :D). The challenge is sponsored by Dr Digi - so I had a look through my stash and used Beach Bum Bob for my card.

There was no optional theme for the DT to play along with this time. I coloured him with watercolour pencils and metallic pencils and then added peel-off flourishes to the edges. To finish I added a round sentiment topper; it kinda looks like the sun shining down.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
DragonflyDreams - Anything goes
notjustcards - Anything Goes
CCM #248 Anything Goes

Thanks for looking - so pop over to the blog and join in.

Embossed soloist @ I Love Promarkers

Hi guys,

Welcome to my DT post for our new challenge at I Love Promarkers, with the optional theme of embossing. We are sponsored by the lovely SheepSkiDesigns for this card, and I chose to use Solo - image no 168 for my DT inspiration.

I coloured the image using the following promarkers: Budding Rose, Soft Green, Burnt Sienna, Morning Mist, Grey Squirrel, Lush Green, Lime Green, Soft Peach, Royal Blue and Arctic Blue.

I fussy cut the image before layering onto an embossed blue paper. I layered this onto some embossed foil on a pale green card blank. Finally I stamped the sentiment and heat embossed using Heat It Up Copper powder.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
DaringCardmakers #134 Something New (image)
Allsorts #555 More than one-word sentiment
MTTC #413 New Stash (New image)
SOS #412 Winter Blues (embossed cards are old stash)
AYLI - Anything Goes
613AvenueCreate #229 Make it shiny
DigiDoodleStudio #23 Something New (Image)

As promised here is an update on my Dino height chart:
I am on the last Dinosaur and the baby now! The end is in sight whoop!

Christmas Sparkle

Hi guys,

I have another Christmas card to share with you today - yup that is two in January! lol

I kept this card very CAS. Firstly I used a card blank that I got free as part of a card set with Papercraft Inspirations. The glitter toppers on the right-hand side were with another free card kit with Papercraft Inspirations as well. It is such a shame this magazine has now stopped producing, but fingers crossed Cardmaking and Papercraft is just as good.

I then used a Pepper and Friends glitter sticker. It did take some pressing down to get it to stick as they have been hidden in my stash for quite a while, but I got there in the end. To finish I simply added glitter gem strips.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
WinterWonderland - Little Friends
Addicted to CAS #176 Frosty (snowman is very frosty - frosty sparkles on the gems)
CCM #248 Anything Goes
TIOT - what a cutie
AYLI - Anything Goes
ThePaperPlayers #474 CAS fashion fun (Woolen warmers)
CraftyHazelnuts #473 Use a sentiment

Thanks for looking and check back Wednesday for a new I Love Promarkers challenge (and an update on my eight chart :D)

Winter Birthday

I really do wish the weather would figure out it is supposed to be winter - I am so sick of the rain now! My garden is just a big boggy sludgy mud flat lol.

So to make me feel better I decided to make a postcard for a Winter birthday, using some Christmas patterned paper from Marianne Designs as the base.

I stamped the acorns from a Winter Wonderland free stamp set, then stamped them again onto scrap paper. I fussy cut the image on scrap paper and used it as a mask. I then stamped the house image over the top. I coloured the image using watercolour pencils from WHSmiths and finished by stamping the sentiment from the same stamp set in Pretty Colour blue ink.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
SundayPostcardArt - Winter is here
ATSM #372 Make your mark
CRAFT #540 Anything Goes
CCM #248 Anything Goes
MMM #113 Anything but square
TheMaleRoom #127 Anything Masculine Goes
AlphabetChallenge - T for Try Something Different (masking)

Blue for summer

Hi guys,

I have a summer themed card to show you today - but in shades of blue (which is this years pantone colour!)

I used the remains from some butterfly peel-offs to make some butterflies. I tried using washi tape to transfer them, but it wasn't quite sticky enough, so they didn't transfer brilliantly :(. However, I am happy that they still look like butterflies. I then stamped some flowers in blue ink. Finally I stamped the sentiments in black ink.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
SimplyCreateToo #156 Monochromatic
Avenue613 #229 Make it shiny (peel-offs)
Colormyheart #375 Blue Monochrome
Intaas #74 Monochrome
CCEE2001 June in January
CASology #359 Repeat

Blue Christmas

Well it was certainly a wet Christmas this year - has it stopped raining here in the UK??

I have my first Christmas card of 2020 to share with you today (yes I am getting prepared already lol).

I used a dark navy base card and streaked yellow and red glitter pritt stick in lines across the centre.  I used this to then adhere a previously stamped and die-cut bauble onto the card front (you may recognise it as the centre from a card made late last year). Finally I added the peel-off sentiment.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Addicted to stamps #180 Cold and frosty
ABCChristmas - A for Anything Christmas
SOS #410 Happy Holidays
CRAFT #539 Christmas
modsquad - create your own patterned paper (the bauble is stamped with snowflakes)

My Scorpion passed away this morning, which made for a very sad drive to work :( Here is a photo of him taken on the 30th December looking very healthy! No idea what the cause was.

All Things New - First challenge of 2020

Hi guys,

Happy New Year!!!

Our first challenge at MAWTT is All Things New chosen by Amy. Our challenge format has changed for the new year and there will be one challenge a month, with all members of the DT creating for the challenge :). I hope this encourages more of you to have a go at some of our challenges.

Here is my DT creation - using some new inks and for a new baby.

I used a pyramage set that I was given from my mum over a year ago, which has lovely glitter accents. I layered it onto a fancy purple die-cut. The heart was die-cut from cream card and then I used Versa Magic chalk ink in Pretty Peony, and Tim Holtz distress inks in Scattered Straw, Squeezed Lemonade and Lilac blended over the heart before adding the peel-off sentiment.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Daring Cardmakers #132 Pretty Pastels
CASology #358 Branch
SimonSaysStamp - Wednesday - Something New
The library challenge #49 Anthology (using the following book)
Usborne-Town-Mouse-and-the-Country-Mouse-c2007-NEW-Hardcover

Thanks for looking - hope you are not feeling too delicate today?
