Water flight

I found these coasters in my stash the other day. I think I got them from my mum - possibly for Christmas a couple of years ago. So I decided to make use of one (I do still need to get an acrylic mount for it - or some varnish).

So I started off by blending a few of my distressed inks - crushed sapphire, evergreen bough and squeezed lemonade - to try and create a body of water at the base of the coaster. I then stamped the dragonfly (as you always find them around water) and the sentiment. Nice and simple (although I really do need a rounded blending tool).

Things with Wings @ MAWTT

Hi guys,

Yes it is time for a new challenge over at MAWTT!! This theme has been chosen by the lovely Jackie, and it is things with wings. This can be interpreted in a range of different ways, but I have gone basic for my card:

I made the shaker element using a topper from a free paper pack. I embossed some yellow card and then matted the layers together, with some patterned leaf paper. I then mounted the panel onto a 6x6 card base (this is 8x8 though, so I need to make a new envelope for the card). Finally I added the sentiment and a bow.

Masculine @ Aud Sentiments

Hello again guys,

Finally getting all caught up after a week away in Sweden at a rock festival. Back to work today (I needed to take a few extra days just to get everything sorted, including the menagerie, as I am working the bank holiday weekend).

Anyway, here is my creation for our new challenge - Masculine - at Aud Sentiments. The sponsor for this challenge is Dr Digi, and I used my Naptime sentiment sheet as I think they are perfect for a masculine card.

I used the back of one of my heavily patterned cards, so it can be used as a postcard, for display purposes. I fussy cut the sentiment of choice from the sheet and layered it onto some skull patterned paper (from Papercraft magazine). I finished the card by layering two stripes of washi tape on top of each other. A nice and simple card design.

Anything Goes @ I Love Promarkers

Our new challenge at I Love Promarkers does not have an optional theme this time. We are sponsored by the lovely IkesArt, and I have used Great Tit on a pine cone.

I used one of my patterned base cards to add interest. I then die-cut the image using a stitched square before colouring with promarkers. Finally I die-cut some pine cones and branches using some glitter, patterned, linen paper from my scrap box.

Fairy garden

Hi guys,

Just catching up after my week away in Sweden! I decided to make myself a new card/postcard to be precise. I had printed the postcards out before I went away, as I needed to use one for my DT creation for while I was away. They are a vintage style postcard design of flowers, and so I thought this one would work really well with my fairy die-cuts.

I used the one with a purple background, as I feel this is more suited for a fairy theme, and the flowers are down the side, so she looks like she has just exited from among them and is looking towards the stamp area.

Dies - Fairy die set that came free with a magazine (unable to remember which one)

Animals @ Aud Sentiments

Anything Goes @ Creative Moments

We also have a new challenge starting over at Creative Moments. Our theme is always anything goes, and here is what I have created:

I used Garden 9, from one of our sponsors - Morgan's Art World. I coloured the image with promarkers and then die-cut with the X-cut nesting oval dies. I then die-cut the next oval up from purple polka dot metallic card, and used a border from a hunkydory topper set to surround the flowers. Finally I added a bow and a button, leaving space to add a sentiment.

Birthday Alpaca

Giraffe a great day

OK so it is a bad pun, but it was all I could think of for my mini giraffe card!

So I used a 3D sticker I have had ain my stash for a while - with tiny little googly eyes - and then simply wrote the sentiment on - CAS and Quick and Easy too!

Underwater wishes

So first of - I have done it! My hair is all gone and I have almost reached my target for the Bumblebee Conservation trust!

Bee Friendly

Hi there everybody,

In this lovely weather we are seeing the bees enjoying the flowers - but they are on the decline at the moment and need as much help as possible from us. Planting nectar rich flowers that bloom through the seasons is one way to do this (single flowers rather than doubles for example).

Our new challenge theme over at MAWTT is Bees, hence the introductory post. Here is my creation:

I used my intricuts die with X-cut self-adhesive glitter paper. I then cut the sentiment using Crafter's Companion edging die. Finally I added some blitters.
