Christmas Train

I had to quickly make a Christmas card just before Christmas for one of Gavins pals whose address we did not have. We got a Christmas card from them with the address on, so I then needed a card lol. Luckily I had popped into the Range and decided to grab myself one of the Hunkydory Little Book of..Vehicles. As this is somebody who likes his steam trains I found the perfect image in the book.

I used one of my patterned card blanks - cut the image to size - added a couple of festive stickers - finished with a gold foiled snowflake, and a festive message inside. Nice and simples!

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
CrftyHazelnutsChristmas #418 Christmas or New Year
WinterWonderland - Anything Christmas
MTTC #387 Something New (the Hunkydory Little Book of...)
CountryView #70 Christmas

I would also like to share my bunny WIP @ just over 37 hours:
Wishing you all the best for 2019!!!

Golden Welcome for 2019

Hi guys,

I am back again with the final one of my 2019 calendars. I really need to post a couple up to my parents as I forgot to send them up with them grrr.

For this card I decided to do it as a card design so used a pale yellow card blank and stuck the calendar tab inside. I die-cut a star cut circle using a creatiive dies nesting set and Anita's gold card, and then added the sentiment using a gold paint pen.

For the front I used Crafter's Companion CD-Rom (Succulent Florals) to create the panel, and then used the gold paint pen to add the year. Finally I cut some Marianne Creatables designs from self-adhesive vellum and attached to the card front.

After hosting Christmas we have a house full of food - none of which actually goes together as a meal. I made a ham hock soup from scratch for Christmas Day and it wasn't eaten, so I thought I would try some tonight as it was my first attempt at making this soup. Well it smells like sweaty feet, and doesn't get much better when heated up - so needless to say I decided not to try the soup and I will consider trying to make it again some other time - possibly!

So anyway - I would like to enter my calendar into the following challenges:
notjustcards - Anything Goes
dragonflydreams - Anything Goes
inkspirational #176 Photo (golden accents and feather)

Polar Year

I was determined to get my entry done on time for the progressive challenge over at IkesArt, as I missed last month due to rushing around for Christmas! So I made this little calendar (ribbon still needs adding yet):

I used the offcut from my Stylish Santa card as the hanger base. I then used a Crafters Companion CD-Rom to create the background panel, using the Succulent Florals collection. I coloured the image with Promarkers and then die-cut using an M&C nesting stitched square die, and added over the digital panel. I added the calendar tab to overhang the base slightly. Finally I punched the holes in the top and cut some corners using a Marianne corner die and X-cut self-adhesive vellum.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
notjustcards - Anything Goes
AnimalFriends #69 Anything Goes
AYLI - Anything Goes
CRAFT #495 Anything Goes
CuteCardThursday #562 Anything Goes

Stylish Santa

Hiya guys - It is Christmas Eve! I think I am almost ready for tomorrow, although I am sure I will realise I haven't done something first thing in the morning! lol.

Here is the Christmas card I made for the Limited Runs progressive challenge (although I missed the deadline with it -oops).

So firstly I coloured the image using Promarkers, and then die-cut using X-cut scalloped circle nesting dies. Then I had to decide how I wanted to display him.

I decided to do something a little different and so I cut 2/3 of the grey card from and discarded (into my stash don't worry). I then used a papermania glitter, die-cut half doily? Not really sure what they are called, but they look good haha. This was from the linen Capsule Collection. The Santa was then mounted onto this panel and an Anita's foiled sentiment added down the side.

As the inside of the card was just plain white I decided to add a Poinsettia and music paper from my stash.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Die-cuttin' Diva's #400 Happy Holidays
Modsquad - Christmas/Winter using metal die
Cute Card Thursday #561 Anything Goes
craftyhazelnuts #417 USe the word Christmas
Fussy and Fancy #227 Christmas/New Year
Winter Wonderland - Anything Christmas Goes
ABC Christmas - Y for Your favourite thing (sparkle!!)

And here are some of my decorations :)

Have a very Merry Christmas all!!

Calender sketched

I have been making my calenders again - only two more to go now!

So for this first one I used the sketch from AHSC for the main theme.
I rotated the sketch then used a pink card for my base. I took some monochromatic paper from my stash and die-cut using marianne dies, layering them according to the sketch. The border strip was already in my stash.

I would like to enter this one into the following challenges:
 AYLI - Anything Goes
CRAFT #495 Anything Goes

My second calender is a hanging one - as not everybody likes the desk calenders.

I based this one around a Sweet Sketch Wednesday sketch.
Again I used the pink card as a base, but this time I layered the sketch onto an oriental patterned paper. I used a marianne die to cut the frame for the image and added a white ribbon with silver edges, and a silver bow to finish.

I would also like to enter this one into the following challenges:
Dragonfly Dreams - Anything Goes
MAWTT #87 Anything but a card
Intaas #48 Add some sparkle (ribbon and bow)

I also have a couple of pet photos for you :)

I will have a stitching update once I find my diary with the time taken so far in it!!

Have a great Christmas,

Christmas @ Creative Moments

Welcome to the last challenge of 2018 for the Creative Moments challenge blog!! Creative Moment Blog Badge
We have decided on a Christmas twist, but as always you can play Anything Goes. Our sponsor for this challenge is Bugaboo, and I have used Three Penguins for my icy card.

Once again I used one of my new polka dot card blanks, this time in an icy blue to give the effect of falling snow. I coloured the image using Promarkers and then used my Hobbycraft paper cutter on the wavy blade to trim to size. I added two stripes of tree patterned washi-tape before layering the image onto the card, and then added a Hunkydory foiled sentiment topper. To finish I added a felt tree and star and some Pepper and Friends glitter stickers.

I would like to eter this card into the following challenges:

Anything Goes @ I Love Promarkers

We have an Anything Goes - no twist challenge over at I Love Promarkers this time, so I took the opportunity to get on with my calender making!

I bought these polka dot cards on Black Friday and thought it would be perfect for this cute little image from our sponsor Dr Digi'sHouse Of Stamps  - Cuddly Critters Panda.

I coloured him using Promarkers, and then followed a sketch to creat the layout. I already had a couple of double-cut circle 'frames', and then used washi tape in blue and grey on white card and die-cut a scalloped circle from this panel. Finally I layered the image onto a leafy patterned paper and added some wooden embellishments, as ell as the calender tab.

I would like to enter this calender card into the following challenges:
ATSM #322 Make your mark
613 Avenue Create #216 Use Washi Tape
Animal Friends #69 Anything Goes

I had a little visitor a few days ago. I think it was feeling a little cold as it was hiding in the leui of the door frame:

Desk calender

I have been playing with my calender tabs again. I still have several to use so these ill probably be my focus for my next few creative sessions.

This was created on the computer using a CD-Rom that came with a Quick Cards magazine. I layered several different elements together to make a shaped base card for the calender, which I then printed and fussy cut. I then simply added the calender tab to the vacant space and made a stand for the back.

I would like to enter this calender into the following challenges:

Anything Goes @ Aud Sentiments

Hi guys,

This is the last challenge from us at Aud Sentiments for 2018!! Yup it will soon be Christmas and then we will be into 2019. I will however still be posting throughout december :)

W also have a DT call over at our blog currently. You do not need to have previous experience, but there are some requirements, which can be found over at the Aud Sentiments blog.

So our challenge this time is simply anything goes, and we have a gift certificate to offer one lucky winner. I decided to use one of my cross-stitch kits to make a Christmas card. OK I admit I had already started it, but it was with the idea of making it into the card, as it came with this lovely printed apeture card. The design itself is by Margaret Sherry.

This took approximately 8 hours to stitch and he looks good doesn't he?

I would like to enter him into the following challenges:
CRAFT #494 Christmas
Cute Card Thursday #559 Anything Goes
C4C463 Tree-mendous
TIOT - Winter Wonderland

ABC Christmas - Z for Zero Embellishments
craftycalender - It's Christmas Time

Creepmas @ Creative Moments

Hi there,

We have an alternative Christmas twist for you with our challenge at Creative Moments this time. The twist is Creepmas - so mix halloween with Christmas. I have worked with a SheepSki Designs image called Skully Christmas. Please check out the blog for our other sponsors and DT creations.

I chose the basecard to look like wallpaper, and the decoration should look like it is outside the room. There is a pelmet about the 'window' and a sentiment plaque also. These were all layered together with the image digitally using a CD-rom that was free with Quick Cards 110 (I think - might have been 116). I finished the card by adding some festive peel-offs.

I am so sorry this DT creation is late verybody - I had issues with my second printer, and my main printer had to be moved out of the guest bedroom when we had guests staying and it is too heavy for one person to move it, so I had to wait for me and hubby to be home at the same time lol. All sorted now! I could have just run with a very purple and streaky design, but I think you all would prefer to wait :D.

Anyway, I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
catch the bug - photo inspiration

crafty hazelnuts Christmas #414 Use a sticker
The Paper Players #421 It' beginning to look a lot like Christmas
intaas #47 Funny Christmas

Oooh I have a short video of some honeybees taken just before winter set in - using a bird hide as a hive!

Timely calender

Tonight I have a calender to share with you before I go and get some more decorations out of the attic.

I used a pearlised red base card, with a punched edge. I layered some 'Sweet Treats' paper onto this and a scalloped circle onto which i stamped a clock that was free with Creative Stamping magazine, in red pretty colour ink. I punched holes for the ribbon to hang the calender, added the calender tab and also added peel-off cupcakes and sentiment.

The layout is based on the sketch from Cheerful Skeches

I also wish to enter the following challenges:
CCEE1848 Circles and Square (stamp is circles and the backing pappers are circles and squares designs)
The Card Concept #103 Holiday Treats

CCM #223 Anything but a card

Thanks for looking, check back tomorrow for another creation!

With Love at Christmas

Hi guys,

I have a cross-stitched card to share with you today. It is a Christmas card and was a free kit with a magazine a few years ago. I am starting to try working through my backlog of free kits. It is a Fizzy Moon design, and this is such a cute bear :)

The card blank was part of the free kit and I simply added the stitching behind the aperture. I decided not to add anything else to this, as I didn't think it needed it, due to the printed card base.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Country View #70 Christmas
Card Mania #111 Christmas
Animal Friends #69 Anything Goes
CraftyCalender - Its Christmas Time
jinglebelles - Anything Christmas
Craftingbydesign - Christmas
craftycatz #440 Too Cute

I haven't quite got my Christmas decorations up yet, but once I do I will take some photos. I do also need to get some update photo's of my cross stitch WIP's!
