Shaking it on the Beach for Summer

Wednesday passed in a blur - why do your days off always seem to go so quickly, but work days drag out so much. Having to do this blog post quick as I am due in work at 11am and don't get back until after 9pm. But it is our new challenge over at Aud Sentiments, and this time the theme is Summer. It may be the case that summer has now been and gone in the UK (hope not - my courgettes want time to grow lol), but here is my shaker card that I have made for the occassion, using Surfer Avery from our sponsor Paper Nest Dolls.

I die-cut the aperture out of the front of a white card base, and also some blue pearlised card using X-cut large labels nesting dies. I coloured Avery with Promarkers - Gold, Peach, Bright Orange, Tequila sunrise, Ruby, Oatmeal, March Hare, Polar Blue, Arctic Blue, Blue Pearl and Lime Twist.
Acetate was added behind the blue frame and this was adhered over the aperture in the card base and sequins placed inside. Avery was then layered into the frame and stuck down with washi tape, to make the inside neat. Joanna Sheen seaguls dies were used on the blue card, and the toy ducks on X-cut self-adhesive glitter paper. The Dolphin was already in my stash. These were layered onto the front of the acetate to add some dimension.
