A little catty post

Hi guys,

e have had a great day out at Llanelli WWT today - although the wind was a little chilly at times. There wasn't many opportunities for pictures as my camera doesn't zoom in quite as well as others, and I had not taken my little digital camera.

However, I do have a photo of my most recent card to share with you. I wanted a kitty card based loosely around St Patricks Day (hence the green :) ).

I used a pale green card blank and started by adding the MEOW stickers across the centre. I have had these stickers for a while and never had any idea how I could use them, so decided to base the card around them. I then added the crazy cat sentiment from the same pack. Next I added a kitty to go with it, in a green/blue, and some paw prints. Finally I stamped the floer accents and sentiment from a free patchwork stamp set. I coloured the flowers using atercolour pencils.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Daring Cardmakers - A special lady (my mum loves her cats)
ATSM #334 CAS
CCEE1913 Pencils
intaas #54 Green and 2 others (brown and blue)
TIOT - say it with flowers
SUYP #40 St Catericks Day

For a Man @ MAWTT

Hi there,

It is time for our new challenge from Team A at MAWTT, chosen this time by the lovely Zoe. She has chosen the theme of For A Man.

I have gone for a travelling theme for my card:
I blended Carved Pumpkin and Scattered Straw Distress inks across the background to create an old map colouration. I then edged this with Pine Needles Distress ink.

The image was a sticker that I had for a while in my stash, as was the sentiment sticker, but they were from two different sets.

I would like to enter this tiny 3x3 card into the following challenges:
Simply Create Too #147 For a male
Intaas #54 Green and two other colours (black and brown)
Simon Says Wednesday - Anything Goes

I also have a book review to share with you :)

Codename Villanelle by Luke Jennings
This is the book that Killing Eve is from. I thought it was just one book, however there is a second book in the pipeline! I have not watched Killing Eve yet so I came to the book unbiased by the TV programme. The story starts with some history and background on both Eve and Villanelle, and how their paths come to cross. There is a lot of details about how they each do things and how their lives are very different. Eve loses her job because of Villanelle, and this sets her on her tail. She knows that Villanelle is dangerous and is working for dangerous people, but she also knows that she needs to be stopped. Full of tension, action and emotion this is a very detailed story, which ends just shortly after Villanelle has to exterminate her mentor and allow her identity to be discovered by another. However, at this point in the story Eve and Villanelle have never actually met. I found that this story wasn’t as fast paced as some crime fiction, but it doesn’t feel slow due to all the extra detail involved to give you a thorough idea of what is going on. You do get attached to some characters, and occasionally you even feel like you are on the side of the bad guys. Well worth a read. Now just to wait for the second book to be released.

Thanks for looking and we cannot wait to see what you create for our theme this time.

Balloon Celebrations

Hi there,

I made this card duoo primarily for Twofer card challenge - with the first being a party balloon and the second a travelling balloon. They are also great for the Alphabet Challenge - Z for Zesty colours.

I used a polkadot card blank, and added some birthday celebration stickers to it. I chose a green polka to match the green of the froggie. I die-cut the balloon (Creative Dies) from self-adhesive glitter (X-cut). To finish I used a fineliner to add the tail of the balloon.

I think this card is suitable for the following challenge:
CraftyCalender - For a child

For this second one I kept it CAS and simply cut the same balloon from a yellow glitter paper. I added a printed sentiment from a Quick Cards CD-Rom. Finally I added the travel themed stickers.

Not Birthday @ Aud Sentiments

Hi there,

We have a new challenge over at Aud Sentiments, and this time we want to see anything EXCEPT birthday sentiments. We are sponsored by The Paper Shelter

and I have used Relaxing Bath for my card.

I used the pre-coloured image and layered it onto one of the other backing papers before printing out, because I wanted a sentiment panel to be included in the image. I then simply used a peel-off sentiment. I added some blue wave washi tape to a peach card base, then layered the image panel onto this. Finally I added some stars and a horseshoe.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
dragonflydreams - for a special female

Thanks for looking and I can't wait to see what you create,

We have a new sponsor for this challenge - Oddball Art by Lizzy Love - and I have used Big Eye Flower Girl Noora. (I am so sorry this is posted later than expected - I had scheduled it, but apparently didn't then click on publish!! Grrr).

Others = Tawney Owl, Metallic Gold, Marine, Poppy, Twilight Sky, Royl Blue, Soft Peach and Amethyst. Her dress and night socks are coloured with watercolour pencils. I then cut the image on my paper trimmer from Hobbycraft - using the scalloped blade.

It's all in the shoes

So as I promised, I have another card to share with you today - CAS stamped card!

I simply used some stamps I got from my mum a while back and didn't actually use. I started with a lilac card base. Then I die-cut the large label from X-cut nesting dies on pearlescent silver paper. I stamped the shoes (three of) onto this panel before adding to the base at an angle. I then stamped the sentiment on the top left corner.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
CCEE1911 Shoes
Simplylessismoore #391 Take three
dragonflydreams - For a special female
