Ribbons @ I Love Promarkers

We have a new challenge started today at I Love Promarkers, with an optional theme of Adding a Ribbon. This time we are sponsored by IkesArt and I have used Ikes Cubimals image.

I coloured the images using the following promarkers - Cool Grey 3 & 5, Winter Berry, Tawny Owl, Chestnut, Mango, Tequila Sunrise, Mustard, Satin, Pale Pink, Blossom, Bluebell and Lush Green.

I then put slits down each side of all the images and threaded ribbon through each panel. I added a rough bow with the same ribbon and then finished the card using peel-offs.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

dragonflydreams - spooky or cute (going with cute for this one)

notjustcards - Anything Goes

I also have a recipe to share with you today. This is to make a lentil curry.

Firstly, you need to soak your lentils for the correct amount of time - refer to the packaging for this as it will vary depending on the lentils you are using. I used split red lentils and tinned yellow lentils for my curry.

First fry the lentils in about 2tbsp oil for 5 minutes.

Next add two diced onions, two chopped garlic cloves, three green chillies (chopped) and a few chopped tomatoes (fresh rather than canned) to a wok. Heat in the wok until the onion has softened.

In the meantime, make up your creamy sauce using 150ml single cream with a little bit of water. (I need to confirm this part). Add to the slightly cooled lentils.

Add the spices (list here) to the pan with the onion mix and heat through for another 5 minutes.

Then add the lentils mix and heat for 8-12 minutes.

Thanks for looking,

Hugz Tinz

  3. Hi Tina,

Thanks very much for letting me know that the link on my blog for I Love Promarkers was for the wrong challenge. I have amended this so it now links correctly. I am sorry for my error.

Your lentil curry looks yummy. We use lentils mainly for soups and not made a curry before so I am tempted to do so. Thanks for the inspiration
