Monochromatic Christmas bringing the sparkle into 2020

So although Christmas has passed, I decided to bring some sparkle into 2020 by making a golden monochromatic Christmas card.

I got these glitter reindeer and I just had to use one for this card. I stamped the sentiment using black ink and heat embossed using an old gold embossing powder. I then added three gold star sequins to finish.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Christmas Kitty

So I have made the first of my Christmas cards for next year - a nice simple one!

I stamped the kitty image to start with. I was going to add a little festive coat, but I didn't like the way it sat on the cat, so decided against it. Instead I placed a present in front of the cat, with a Merry Xmas tag, and a holly leaf to the top of the card to add a bit of sparkle.

I also have a cute little baby to share with you. Unfortunately he lost the fight for life at half 4 this morning after several days of 2-4 hourly supplementary feeding :(.

Dreaming in the snow

 Good evening everybody,

A couple of my work colleagues are leaving in a couple of weeks and so I have made a special card for them. They are a married couple and the own a dog, and we work in medical research, so I have used a variety of images to create a really unique card for them.

I layered an A4 card with some foil effect patterned paper. I then layered the topper onto some orange patterned paper before adding to the centre of the card. I coloured the nurse mouse using Promarkers before fussy cutting. To finish I layered a sentiment onto red glitter card, and used a best of luck sentiment next to this also.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
C4C563 Snowmen
ThePaperPlayers #519 Tic-tac-toe (patterned paper - red- colouring tool)
SOS #434 Let it snow
AYLI - Snowmen or Penguins - Snowmen are much more likely to be seen and built by many people, and so they are more personal for personalised cards like this!

Fancy Festivities @ Aud Sentiments

 Hi guys,

I am so sorry I am late with my DT card. There were issues getting the image and then I was working - but I have it all completed for you now!!

This is our last challenge of the year at Aud Sentiments, and so we have an Anything goes theme for you all. Sponsored by the lovely Moon flower Digi Stamps I have used Mistletoe Christmas. We also have a DT call for 2021!!

Due to the issues of work etc, I decided to colour my image on the computer as it meant I could get it finished quicker! I then die-cut into an oval and added a background die-cut using fancy frames from X-cut and red glitter paper. This was layered over a gold snowflake base card and a 'Festive Fun' foiled sentiment added to the bottom.

In the blues

 Hi guys,

It is time for a new challenge over at Creative Moments, and as always I have played along with my team mates, but using up my stash (I am in the 7th team :D)

I used two different mini paper pads that I got from the Works to cover a KRAFT card base. The first was from a blue monochrome pad and I cut it down the centre to make two pieces. The second was from a Naturals pad and I layered this over the two blue pieces. I then used small tag toppers to add embellishment and used one for the sentiment.

Stars

 Hi guys,

I have played the Twofer challenge of Stars this time, with these two cards:

I used the same stamp for both cards, stamping with JewelBox black ink and using Copper Heat It Up! embossing powder. The first I put onto a pre-printed base card and added a sentiment from the same stamp set in red ink. The second card I used KRAFT base and stamped two other stars without embossing. I added a birthday sentiment and some sunflower stickers, as I had already decorated the envelope with a sunflower image.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenge - CCEE2047 Sunflowers (although the flowers themselves are not stamped)

Turkey treats

 Hi guys,

I decided to make something a little different to hide some Christmas treats :D

I used a template from a papercraft magazine to make it. I started with Green mirror card and die-cut a scalloped circle, smaller normal circle from the centre and then another smaller circle again. I cut six of the scallops away and then joined the ends back together to make the outside of the mini dish. I glued this to the larger circle and then glued the smaller circle inside for stability.

Next I used the template from the magazine to cut out the birds body from pearlescent red paper. I wrapped this into the cone shape. I used a strip of diamantes around the bottom, two scalloped hearts cut from pearlescent white paper for the wings, a flower cut from the same paper and cut in half for the beak and flappy bit, two diamantes for the eyes and the offcut scallops for the crest. I then used Christmas curling ribbon for the tail. I do need to find some stronger glue for sticking the base together (as you can see it is not quite central due to it keeping slipping) and for the back strip of the birds body and crest, but otherwise I am really pleased with him.

I would like to enter him into the following challenges:

Autumnal kitties

 Happy Samhain everybody!

I decided to watch The Craft while crafting this evening - that film really doesn't get old!

I made a kitty themed autumn card for men, using a wedding base card.

I used a base card with a vellum central panel. I printed the quote from TheMaleRoom in brown ink and die-cut using an X-cuts oval nesting die. I then mounted it behind the vellum panel. I stamped the kitty onto the front of the panel using Distress Moss ink, with one the kitty's having Whispers ink behind it. I stamped the sentiment from the same free stamp set using the Distress ink also.

Ribbons @ I Love Promarkers

We have a new challenge started today at I Love Promarkers, with an optional theme of Adding a Ribbon. This time we are sponsored by IkesArt and I have used Ikes Cubimals image.

I coloured the images using the following promarkers - Cool Grey 3 & 5, Winter Berry, Tawny Owl, Chestnut, Mango, Tequila Sunrise, Mustard, Satin, Pale Pink, Blossom, Bluebell and Lush Green.

I then put slits down each side of all the images and threaded ribbon through each panel. I added a rough bow with the same ribbon and then finished the card using peel-offs.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

dragonflydreams - spooky or cute (going with cute for this one)

notjustcards - Anything Goes

I also have a recipe to share with you today. This is to make a lentil curry.

Firstly, you need to soak your lentils for the correct amount of time - refer to the packaging for this as it will vary depending on the lentils you are using. I used split red lentils and tinned yellow lentils for my curry.

First fry the lentils in about 2tbsp oil for 5 minutes.

Next add two diced onions, two chopped garlic cloves, three green chillies (chopped) and a few chopped tomatoes (fresh rather than canned) to a wok. Heat in the wok until the onion has softened.

In the meantime, make up your creamy sauce using 150ml single cream with a little bit of water. (I need to confirm this part). Add to the slightly cooled lentils.

Add the spices (list here) to the pan with the onion mix and heat through for another 5 minutes.

Then add the lentils mix and heat for 8-12 minutes.

These shoes were made for walking.....

 Hi guys,

I have another card using the Witchy Shoes image from Digi Doodle Studios - this time coloured completely by hand using promarkers.

I simply matted the image onto patterned paper and then layered onto a heavily patterned base card. To finish I added an Anita's foiled sentiment.

As we have a new challenge starting over at Creative Moments today I thought I would coincide my post with this, so that I can direct you all over there to see what Team B have created this time.

I have made another coaster style card - this time I decided it was about time I used my Woodland Folks die set, which I have had for quite a while!
