Shrunken vintage - Aud Sentiments

Weird title I know, and no we are not looking for little things over at Aud Sentiments for our new challenge - all will become clear when you see my DT creation. Our new challenge is an easy one - Anything Goes (just don't forget that all important sentiment).

As I also have my new crafting technique starting today I decided to combine the both of them. The technique is using Shrink Plastic.

So to start with I stamped the Dovecraft Couture de Jour stamp that was free with Quick Cards 165 onto shrink plastic. I die-cut the image using x-cut oval nesting dies and punched a hole into the top. I then popped into a pre-heated over at 150 degrees and left it until it had straighten back out again. I did also make some more little bits at the same time, which you will see later when I have finished playing!
I then used a patterned base card, and layered a stripy paper from my stash, and a paper that came with the stamp, onto blue pearlescent card, before layering onto the card base. I chose a white ribbon with a silver edge to match the silver bow, and threaded the shrink plastic image onto silver wrapped wire, and onto the bow. Finally I added some flat-backed pearls and a sentiment.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
ATSM #281 Anything Goes
allsorts #456 something beginning with B (birthday, blue)
TIOT - Vintage
AYLI - Single or multiple layers - Multiple layers are great for creating depth to a card
fussy and fancy #206 Favourite colours (blue and pink work well together)
IAAS #27 Use stuff you already own
notjustcards - Anything Goes

I did get sent home from work today due to the red warning for snow and wind and having to cross the severn bridge to get home. They didn't want me being stranded if the bridge's got closed. Luckily I already have tomorrow booked off as we have the in-laws here, and I have to get cracking with the order of services. The rabbit I have decided is crazy as she was loving jumping head-first into the snowdrifts. I have tried to get her to go in her hutch, or come inside, but nope - she loves the outdoors. Got to keep checking on her to make sure she is ok tonight!

Speaking of the in-laws, we went to Bristol zoo on Monday and had a great time. Here are some of the photos I managed to take while there:

Thank you for looking and I can't wait to see your entries for the challenge. And do try using shrink plastic - it is great fun!
