Recipe Calendars

Hi there,

I just want to quickly share some more of the calendars I made this month - this time some recipe themed ones.

I used a Printable Heaven CD-Rom for the backing papers, recipes and food images, and just added ribbon, calendar tabs and some peel-offs or stamps where appropriate. The last one is a desk calendar and so I cut a triangle of card to make a stand for the back. I found that you can do this much easier if you fold the card and then cut the back peice diagonally - this then makes a paerfect stand, without looking too much like a greetings card!

I would like to enter these into the following challenges:
crafty catz #401 Something New
A Snowflakes Promise - Anything Goes
613 Avenue Create #205 Something New

I would also like to share my FINISHED fish tank - now just to frame it!
This was a total of 186 hours and 17 minutes! I want to get it framed in a box frame with LED lights inside the top to make it look like a fishtank set back into the wall.

Thanks for looking,

BIRTHDAY!

This title is apropriate in a couple of ways - the first being the fact that I am an aunty again as of 2.34am :). A lovely little girl who is now at home with her mummy and daddy as everything went well. Daddy even got to help deliver her, which he is really pleased about!
I have not been able to see baby yet as I live 5-6 hours away and so cannot easily travel up to see them at the last minute (besides the fact that I didn't actaully find out until after midday!! So I now need to get that birth sampler completed! (and the little vest I am making too - I will work on that this evening).

As for the second part of the title - I have a cross-stitched birthday card to share with you all. The design was a free kit that I stitched last year and I have just got round to making it up into a card for a friends birthday, which is on Tuesday!

The card was preprinted in the kit and so I just stitched the design and then added some peel-offs to finish.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
notjustcards - Anything Goes
The Card Concept #85 Rustic Blooms (classic and elegant)

SOS #338 Birthday

And here is a fary update too:

Fishes for you

Hi there,

It is Friday and I am ready for the weekend! Lots of busy days recently so looking forward to having a bit of a relax - hopefully! I do have some order of service's to make though, which might end up with me pulling my hair out to get them right! I also have a birth sampler to finish as my new neice should be gracing us with her presence at some point today, hopefully!

Anyway - I have made a one-layer romantic card, with a humourous side :)

I used a small Distress Ink in Crushed Sapphire to make the sea on the bottom of the card. I then stamped the fish (from Pink Petticoat) over this using pretty colour black ink. The fish were coloured using various shades of blue watercolour pencils and marker pens. To finish I stamped the sentiment, from the same stamp set, using Whispers blue ink pad and added some blue bubble sticker hearts.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
modsquad - Valentine/Love
Simply Less is Moore #363 OLC cute (I think these fish are very cute!)
ATCAS #128 Ombre
Card Mania #100 Monochromatic

I also have a birth sampler update - but I need to pop it on the computer first as it is on my phone and not my camera! Check back later if you wish to see it (now at 24hrs).

And here it is :)

Rainy Days better with Friends

Oh how I wish I could spend all my rainy days splashing in the puddles with my friends lol. That is what my creation is doing for the new challenge over at Creative Moments. So before I show you my card let me tell you about the challenge. We are an always anything goes challenge blog, and for this challenge there is no optional twist - so just show us what you have been making.

We have several sponsors for this challenge:
Who are offering 4 images to the winner

Creative Bug
Who are offering 5 images to the winner
Paper Nest Dolls
Who are offering 3 images to the winner
...and I am working with Avery in Rain Poncho from Papernestdolls.
I coloured the image using some Script grey tone markers I got from Aldi, which are actually not bad at all and they cost about £7 for 12 pens. I used papermania watercolour pens for the raincoat and duck. I used my paper cutter from Hobbycraft to cut the edge of the image. I layered blue patterned paper onto a yellow gingham and added some washi tape strips in greys and yellows. These were layered onto a pastel orange base card. Finally I added liquid pearls to the top of the image (the top one is supposed to be squashed! Honest!) and layered some paper flowers together, with a diamante, to match the colours of the image. The sentiment was made on the computer.

I would like to add this card for the following challenges:
Addicted to Stamps - baby it's cold outside
TIOT - Fire and Ice (warm colours with cold greys and cold image)
SOS #338 Birthday
CCEE1803 Baby its cold outside
polkadoodles wk3 - winter Birthday

Thanks for looking, and do pop back soon,

Embossed Effects

Yup, you guessed it - we have a new challenge over at I Love Promarkers - so get those pens out and let's get creative!! The challenge theme this time is - Embossing - and we are sponsored by the lovely Bugaboo Stamps.

I have used JJ Coffee for my card this time:

Promarkers - Budding Rose, Salmo Pink, Dusky Rose, Cool Grey 1, Tulip Yellow, Grey Squirrel, Cardinal Red, Blue Pearl, Royal Blue, Terracotta, Fresh Meadow, Leaf Green, Grass and Black

Embossing folder was free with a magazine, and the sentiment came with the image.

I matted the sentiment and the image onto pearescent coral card. I used the depressed side of the ebossed Kraft card as I thought this was more like the wrapper of a hot drinks cup. I layered them all onto a pre-embossed papermaia base card.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
PFP #428 Lots of Layers
ATSM #276 Anything Goes
Simply Create Too #134 Use Embossing

I had a bit of a cooking session the other day too - a risotto and an Apple and Polenta pudding (which I didn't like the texture of lol).

I would like to enter these ATC's into the following Anything Goes challenges:

Dragon Train

Hello everybody - it has been horrible and wet all day today here. So much for me getting out into the garden and sorting my pots and borders! I did manage to plant some french bean seeds, sweet pea seeds and cactus seeds though. Doris must be really hating the wet as she came to look inside the house yesterday (after seeing if there was anything in the garden outside her pen worth eating). She didn't stay for long though before she hopped back into her run lol, daft bunny.

Anyway, I have done a general card depicting a train with a Dragon (Idris from Ivor the Engine, who looks very much like a lively Welsh Dragon).

Here is a close-up of the Dragon:
Stamp: Idris from Ivor the Engine stamp set, stamped with black PrettyColour ink and coloured with Staeblo metallic pencils.
Dies - Intricut Train and Steam die set (I did not take all the pieces out from the train as I wanted it to have a black body). Cut using X-cut self adhesive black glitter and white textured papers.

I layered the die oer the image to ensure Idris was sitting on the chimney.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
CraftyCalendar - Mythical Creatures
MTTC #362Something New (The die was a present to myself in the hobbycraft January sale!)
AYLI - Favourite Die - The intricut dies are so easy to use, and this particular one is great for more masculine cards, whilst still allowing for a feminie touch.
MAWTT #63 CAS
Die-cuttin' Divas #352 Dragons
Cute Card Thursday #513 Something Fun
Sweet Stampin' - Men's card
CASology #283 Glimmer

I would also like to share an update for my Row of Xmas Fairies cross stitch:
This is just under 62 hours so far.

Thank you for looking, and please check back tomorrow for another blog post!

Blue Bird Thanks

Hello everybody and welcome to the first challenge of the year over at Aud Sentiments.
We are getting the new year started off with an Anything Goes challenge.
You can create any type of project you want such as a card, tag, scrapbook layout, altered item, bags, boxes, pocket letter, etc.  The only requirement is to use a sentiment on your project.
Our sponsor for this challenge is We Are 3 Digi Shop

I have used the sponsor image - Bird Songs - in blue, along with a sentiment from their all occasions sentiment set for my calender design:
I layered the sentiment onto the image directly on the computer before printing out. I then cut the image using my wavy line option on my cutter (from hobbycraft). I made a calendar base, with a stand as this is a desk calendar, from peach pearlescent card and then added the calendar tab to the bottom. A nice simple design!

I would like to enter this project into the following challenges:

Rockin' Christmas

Hi there,

I have another Christmas card to share with you today. I wanted to make a more masuline card, but with the icy feel of Christmas, and this is what I ended up with:

So I took a hobbycraft pearlescent blue 6x6" base card. I stamped a Kanban image and heat embossed with Hi-puff powder to get a frosty effect. I added a white sentiment peel-off, and then punched various flowers from pink Christmas papers, from the Mulberry Wood paper stack. I scattered these around the card, with the majority being in the bottom right.

Vintage Hugz

Today I have another calendar to share with you all - this one is a CAS desk calendar with a lovely vintage image.

Promarkers used - Ivory//Summer Sun//Chestnut//Ice Grey 4
I used a pearlescent green cardstock for the base and layered We R Memory Keepers Chalkboard paper onto yellow card and then onto this base. I wrapped with a papermania Natures Gallery ribbon and then layered an ATC folder onto this. I edged this with green polka washi tape before adding the image - cut on an angle for effect.
