Beauty Butterfly, Sailor

Hello and welcome to my second blog post as a DT member for Aud sentiments. As you may have guessed we have a new challenge starting today - Anything Goes (but don't forget that all important sentiment). Great Impressions are sponsoring this challenge, but unfortunately I couldn't remember which image I had got from them (that is what happens when you do not organise things straight away) - and so my image is actually a bugaboo image and sentiment - Beauty Butterfly. However please do check out the Great Impressions store as they have lots of great bits.

Here is the card that I have made:

I took a blue card base and punched the top corners with a corner punch from my stash. I sprayed some white card with Mica Powder in pink and orange shades and then die-cut using a Creative Dies Ornate Frame. I printed the image and sentiment together, and coloured the butterfly with metallic pencil crayons (I haven't used these for AGES!! and it was great fun playing with them again). I also added glitter to the flower using DoCrafts Glitter Markers. Finally I used a rectangle die as a guide and torn the card to the shape and added a doodle line around the edge in a metallic blue gel pen. I hope you like my creation - I think this butterfly is so versatlile!

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges also:
Cute as a Button #26 Anything Goes
Kort 'o' Mania #159 CAS
My Time to Craft #328 Something that flies
Fussy and Fancy #171 Let's Fly Away
Deep Ocean #136 Things with Wings

Here is another Audio Book review for you today.

Billy Budd, Sailor by Herman Melville
This is a short story (4 CD’s) about a young sailor boy who finds himself sequestered onto a warship. The merchant whose ship he was originally on did not want him to go as he had such a calming influence on the ship. He is a very innocent young man and very niave, which makes him susceptible to jealous spite hidden behind jest of one of his new shipmates. Unfortunately, a meeting between the two, brought about by the captain, leads to the death of one and the hanging of the second. This was a good story, although I found that it wandered a little sometimes and so I lost concentration. It is a Victorian Era book, and so this must be remembered when reading, as to account for some of the actions taken. A good short story.
