Stitching @ Creative Moments

Hey guys,

Sorry I am later than usual with the post but I am currently away on holiday :) However I have managed to make a card for the new challenge over at Creative Moments. Our optional twist for this challenge is to add some stitching to your card - be it real or fake.

We have three sponsors for this challenge -

Who are offering 3 images to the winner

Knitty Kitty  Digis
Who are offering 3 images to the winner
Who are offering the same 3 images as the DT have used

I have used Maris Digis - Hair for my card along with some real stitching in the form of a cross stitched butterfly.
I coloured the image with some felt-tip pens, and tore the edges (I left my scissors at home so decided the distressed look was required). I added the butterfly to the top, so that it looks as though the hood is glaring at it. I used a heavily patterned base card to make up for the simplicity.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
notjustcards - Anything Goes

I had a litle friend joining me in the garden at the weekend:
Ooh and I painted my toe nails!

Boy time @ I Love Promarkers

Well, the sun is out and bright, and I am away on holiday - there is a first for everything lol. I don't really like leaving all my plants and animals though and constantly panic that something is going to go wrong - but I really am enjoying the sunshine and being able to relax a little.

However, I do need to tell you about our new challenge twist over at I Love Promarkers. The challenge is an Anything Goes but our twist is to create something for a boy.

How you interpret this is completely up to you, as long as you make sure you follow the theme and you MUST use either ProMarkers, FlexMarkers, AquaMarkers or Trias on your work, if not you entry will be deleted

We are sponsored by  Bugaboo Stamps

The Prize for the lucky winner is
2 Digi Images

...I have used GusAnother Year for my card:

I used a black scalloped base card to make the colours pop. Promarkers used are - Cool Grey 3/Oatmeal/Slate/Soft Peach/Pink Mittens/Sunkissed Pink/Lemon/Yellow/Ruby/Blue Pearl/China Blue/Cyan.

I cut the image close to the frame edge and matted onto yellow pearlised paper, before mounting onto the card base. I stamped the sentiment, which came free with Creative Stamping magazine last year, and heat embossed with Gold Heat It Up powder. On the other side I drew a balloon using Dovecraft 3D pearls - there is obviously a gust of wind at the one side!

The border along the bottom was created with a Dovecraft sequin glitter glue. This is a new product sold in The Works, and I just had to have it. This particular one has butterfly sequins, but as it was blue I decided it would be suitable for a boy card lol. (You can see I had a slight issue at the initial application site due to having not used this product previously, but it is actually really smooth application).

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
PFP #448 Make it manly
ATSM #296 Anything Goes
C4C438 Masculine
sweet stampin' - Special Man
CCM #213 For a man/boy
TIOT - For the boys
Simplycreatetoo #139 For a male

I would also like to share my latest cross stitch finish - at just under 5 hours,

Thanks for taking the time to read my blog,

...not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse

Hi there,

I realised late last night that I stall hadn't made my card for the Limited Runs progressive challenge, so I decided to pull my finger out and get onto it! This is what I managed to come up with:

I used a metallic card base and added some of the vertical washi tape - you can see it this time!! I did cut one of the pieces to give a funky edge, but this particular tape is very difficult to cut without it tearing, or sticking to itself, so I decided to leave the second piece straight. I added the papermania sentiment tag with two of the neon dots to the top of the card. I then added an inliad christmas tree die-cut, with the image over the top (coloured with Promarkers and cut with X-cuts scalloped circle nesting die).

The card was based around the sketch from Die Cuttin' Divas

As already mentioned it is being entered for Limited Runs progressive challenge, and also:
MTTC #372 Holidays
ABC Christmas - M for Mice

I have started a new cross stitch - so here it is at about an hour and a half:
And Chucky wants in on the action too lol:

Anything Goes over at Aud Sentiments

Hi guys,

The weather has certainly brightened up here these last couple of days! My poor plants can't get enough water - do you think that is a good enough excuse for having time off work?? lol.

Anyway I am here to tell you about our new challenge at Aud Sentiments - and it is an easy Anything Goes this time - but please don't forget that we need to see a sentiment of some sort, somewhere on your creation.

We are sponsored by the lovely Sasayaki Glitter

I have used Cute Friends  for my card creation:
I coloured the image with Promarkers and then die-cut using a stitched edge square die from the Works. I then layered this onto a vegetable patterned paper, and matted onto a pale yellow card blank. The sentiment was from the same quick cards magazine as the paper. To finish I added a couple of butterlies and two green paper flowers, layered together with a diamante centre.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
The Male Room #87 Little boys (this card is actually suitable for kids of either sex, with the gardening motifs, more masculine colours and veggies instead of flowers).
Cute Card Thursday #533 Anything Goes
The Paper Players - Animal Antics
PFP #447 Summer fun

Can't wait to see what you create for this challenge,

Christmas Angels

Hi there,

I decided to make a Christmas card today, and went for a free paper pack, that included some decoupage images. Luckily the hubby got me some decoupage scissors for Christmas. They were only cheap ones, and you can tell, but they do work so much better than trying to cut the bits out with large scissors!!

I layered some Christmas washi tape down the left edge of the card, then some poinsettia paper to the right. I added a strip of Christmas sentiment washi tape across these towards the bottom. I then layered the decoupaged image onto the left hand side (I went a bit too far over and only realised after I had stuck it down, as you should have been able to see Santa down the side - I specifically got some Washi tape that was vertical instead of horizontal!). Finally I added a couple of snowflakes - a felt one and a sequin.

I would like to add this card into the following challenges:
Merry Monday #293 Christmas Angels
TIOT - She's got the look
Winter Wonderland - hearts (my angel is holding a wreath of hearts)
MTTC #372 Holidays
Crafty Calendar - Three of something (winged creatures)

I thought I would share some more of my plant pots with you - I will post some Cross Stitching updates, when I remember to take some pictures lol. I finished a card last week and posted it without taking and photos! IDIOT lol.

This Acer is from Tescos, bought at the same time and the same size as...
...this Acer from a garden centre. Might have cost more, but certainly shows why this year. Last year they stayed pretty much the same!

Oriental thoughts

What a lovely day it has been today - I spent almost 2 hours just sorting my planters out on my balcony, and hey sat with the guinea pigs in the garden - hoping that the heat would reduce their urge to fight (no such luck though).

I do have a card to share with you as well :)

For this card I used a Me to You pre-embossed card blank and coloured part of the surface with carved pumpkin distressed ink. I then used my pretty colour black ink pad to stamp the sentiment on the bottom, using a free gift stamp set. The image was stamped with the same ink and was free with Creative Stamping magazine (Clear Impressions).

A nice one-layer CAS card! :)

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
addicted-to-stamps #165 and MAWTT #72 black, white and one other colour
Simply less is moore #372 Thinking of you
Alphabet challenge - E for Ebony
The Paper Players #396 Animal Antics

And here are some pictures of piggy ( my older guinea pig):

Ribbon love :)

Hi there,

I have a new card to share with you all:

The image is from IkesArt I believe (sorry the image is a Bugaboo one - thanks for correcting me Sue!!) and I coloured it with Promarkers. I die-cut the image using a Nellie Snellen circle die and stamped two flowers using distressed ink. I layered two different papermania ribbons behind the image and then used my paper cutter on the scalloped blade to cut a sentiment panel. The sentiment was free with a magazine and was stamped with the Pumpkin distressed ink also.

I am entering this into the following challenges:
The paper players #395 Sketch
 PFP #446 Anything Goes
ATSM #294 CAS
SUYP #30 Furrything Goes
addicted-to-stamps #164 Ribbons

Thanks so much for looking,
