  Hi everybody

I would like to share a mini thank you card with you tonight.

I used a 3x3" card blank and cut the front on a diagonal. I then added a scalloped square of green patterned paper to the inside panel and lined the top edge with yellow drops. I used Whispers ink on the front panel to create a background before layering the sentiment panel over the edge of the cut card. Finally I added a heart and some more gems.

Finished bunny

 I thought I would share my cross stitched bunny decoration with you now it has been put together!

I used double sided tape to attach the two parts of the stitch, while slotting a yellow ribbon into the centre to allow this to be hung up.

Beaded earrings

 Hi guys,

I wanted to share some beaded earrings I made.

These used peyote stitch to create the surround for the central bead. I would have preferred it had I made the surround tighter around the inner bead I think.

Add some flowers

 Hi guys,

I have used Bertha's blooming box for my card.

I coloured the image with the following promarkers - March Hare, Umber, Peach, Grass, Emerald, Plum Preserve, Canary, Lime Green, Warm Grey 2, Cool Grey 5, Honeycomb, Blush, Pastel Blue, Forest Green, Khaki, Warm Grey 5.

I then fussy cut the image. The sentiment panel I have had in my stash for a while and not known what to use it for - this design just seemed perfect for the sentiment. I then simply added a row of tulips to the top of the sentiment.

Christmas stencils

 Hi guys,

I decided to have a play with some new Christmas stencils and embossing powders.

I did the base using versamark ink through the stencil and then heat embossing with copper Heat It Up! embossing powder. Then I did the same with the image but using Papermania white embossing powder. I then added peel-offs to finish the card.

Hey foxy, foxy

 Hi guys,

I have a new card to share with you on this cold and foggy Thursday.

I used a 6x6 base card and layered a papermania capsule collection paper into the centre of this. I then added border stripes down each side, and added the fox topper (from a paper pack that came with a magazine) in the centre. I then added orange buttons to every other circle in the border strips and a bow above the fox. I used a neutral colour scheme with a pop of orange taken from the fox.

Beaded Decorations

 Hi all,

I wish to share a beaded decoration with you today.

This has a wire outer case, which is literally just wrapped wire. The central part is a head pin onto which beads have been threaded and then attached to the cage. Several head pins layered with different beads make the bottom tassels. This is a hanging decoration again, which I used for my Christmas trees.

Mercy by Jodi Picoult

I really like Jodi’s books as they are based on things that could happen in real life, and often address very pertinent questions, looking at the situation from a variety of angles and opinions. This book was no different. The main storyline is that Jamie loves his wife so much that he kills her when she asks him to. His wife has end stage cancer and the doctors are unable to say how long she has left to live, how much pain she will be in, or even where the cancer will strike next. She is unable to bear this any longer and asks Jamie to kill her, in a way that she chooses – suffocation with a pillow.

Cam is the police chief of a little American town due to his lineage. He didn’t ask to be the chief, however his family were the head of the Scottish clan, before they moved out to America, and the clan mentality has remained, meaning that as the only child, Cam must take over his father’s role in the town. Cam has settled into this role with a wife that adores him, but often daydreams about far away places and doesn’t feel he is able to share this longing with his wife, who doesn’t like to travel.

Mia has always been on the move. Her parents were so in love that they often forgot about her, and so she has never felt like she belonged anywhere, which contributes to her inability to settle anywhere. Cams little town is just another stop on her journey.

Jamie takes his wife to Cam’s town to kill her as he is unable to bear the thought of living in the town where it happened. As Cam is his cousin and so he is technically part of the clan, he believes he will have a fair hearing. He drives to the police station and confesses to killing his wife, putting Cam in a difficult position. Cam’s wife is keen to help Jamie in any way she can, and Cam’s family also feel like Jamie should be helped, however as the police chief Cam is unable to take sides. The main story line is looking into the facts of Jamie killing his wife, and the beliefs and opinions of others in the town.

The side story is of Mia and Cam. Mia is a breath of fresh air and upon first meeting her Cam feels immediately attracted to her, as though he has met her somewhere before. Eventually, even though Mia is working for his wife, they begin to have an affair. Mia has been to many of the places Cam wishes to go, and seems to be the embodiment of what he wants. His wife on the other hand just does everything she can to please him.

The book asks the questions what is right and wrong? Can we determine when somebody dies if they have requested it? Are there valid reasons for having an affair? Does one person always love more than the other in a relationship? A very good book, with a captivating telling of the story and well worth a read if you like these sorts of questions.

Get Well Soon

 Hi guys,

We have our first challenge of the year starting today over at I Love Promarkers, with the optional twist of Get Well Soon. As always please remember to use your promarkers (or related) to be eligible to win a prize.

I coloured the image using a range of grey promarkers, from both the warm grey and ice grey selection. I then fussy cut her and adhered her to a wedding base card. I used alphabet peel-offs for the sentiment and then added some paper flowers with silver diamantes in the centre.

Sewn decoration

 Hi guys,

I have two challenge groups on facebook currently, and very few people actually join in. So for this month I am combining the two to see if this helps and if more people join in - also it mean less work for me if people are not going to play along. I am hoping once people start playing along I can then start offering prizes, as I have lots just waiting for numbers to get high enough to warrant offering a prize :(

Anyway, this months crafting technique is making 3D decorations. This first week I thought we could look at sewn decorations, and I have made this little dove from Trim Craft.
