Silhouette Village

I have a Christmas card to share with you all tonight - I started it yesterday and finally finished it about 20 mins ago!! So much to do in between - such as decorating the house ready for the kiddies (none of which have turned up as yet!)

I wanted a slightly more masculine creation, but still with the Christmas spirit, so I went for bold letters, striking silhouette and funky background. I was going to use a different colour circle behind the black, but my others were too small and the parrot had gone to bed so unable to cut anymore as the big shot is in his room!! So the male will just have to like pink lol.

To start with I used a stencil that I got recently in one of the papercraft magazines. I dabbed versamark onto the house part of the stencil and then heat embossed with Papermania Seafoam White embossing powder. Then I applied versamark through the stars and added some yellow fine glitter to this area. I did heat set this, but I may need to spray with hairspray also! I then added some liquid pearl in red to give the scene the christmas feel. I layer the two scalloped circles together and added two present toppers. Finally I wrapped natural twine around the top and placed the letters over this for the sentiment.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Merry Monday #262 Gifts
Crafting by design- Get ready for Christmas
The Male Room #72 Silhouettes
CMP - Christmas Village
A Snowflakes promise #45 Anything Goes
ABC Christmas - V for vibrant (white silhouettes and bright gifts)
Christmas @ Sweet Stampin' - Anything Christmas Goes

I would also like to share my tomato harvest, and my recently dug bed in the garden!

I  have increase the volume in the punnet this afternoon as I have taken the plants out of the greenhouse and so stripped the tomatoes off them!

Thanks for looking - hopefully before long I can show the bed planted with the ferns!

Autumn magic collection

Well the weather has gone a little rubbish again, hasn't it? So I have another ATC collection to share with you :D

So I wanted a bit of an autumnal feel for these cards, whilst adding some fairy sparkle to the silhouettes. The ATC backgrounds were sent to me by one of the ladies from my ATC exchange group, so I decided to put the to good use. They work especially well with the silhouettes because they are such detailed backgrounds. I stamped the images using some free fairy stamps and heat embossed using Heat It Up Iridescent embossing powder. Nice and simple, but quite effective.

I woud like to enter this collection into the following challenges:
not just cards - Anything Goes
Simon says wesnesday - Anything Goes

Hmm seems like not many challenges that I can use these for - but oh well I will still share them with you all anyway :D

I have a couple of Gavin feeding the budgies at Tropical Birdland - and a lovely speckled wood butterfly too - oh and grumpy Simba lol:

Bug Punch

Hi there,

I have an ATC collection to share with you today - the last of the summer themed sets that I am making this year!

I do usually take individual photographs but on the recent two sets I have only taken a photo of the collection together before posting them out. For this set I chose a variety of base cards, and a variety of layouts also. For the green one I chose to layer a white card onto a green pearlescent card, and then punch flowers, ladybirds and butterflies from the green card too. I then layered these in a scandinavian style and added the sentiment over the top. The pink one I layered in a similar way, but using patterened paper punches and layering on the vertical instead of horizontal. For the sunflower one I decided to use the dragonfly punches in a circle as the background was so vibrant.

I would like to enter this collection for the following challenges:
Crafty Catz #389 Autumn Colours - especially the sunflower one.
TIOT - circles (again the sunflower card)
AYLI - Again I have chosen animals - they are simplest to use for basic creations, and there are plenty of designs available that are not stamps!!
Craftingbydesigns - Anything Goes

I also have another fish tank update for you all: ~168hrs

Thank you for looking,

Sparkler Flowers

Hello again everybody,

I have made another birthday card today as my stash is running low and we all know how often a birthday can creep up on us!!! I went for a simple image and based the card around the sketch #234 from AHSC

Here is my take on the sketch:

I used a purple base card, then layered a watercolour effect orange patterned paper and a purple and green patterned paper, with a green scalloped circle in between. Finally I inked the egdes of a piece of white card with Boofle green, Dovecraft purple and Distress Cracked Pumpkin inks. I used these same inks to stamp the flowers into the box. Finally I added two die-cut leaves (Crafter Companion die) and wrapped this panel with twine.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Card Mania #97 Orange, green and purple
inkspirational #146 Inkspirational photo - Inspired by the basket, leaves and natural effect (for my twine). I also used sparkler effect flowers.
Addicted to stamps #155 Flowers
MAWTT #56 Autumn

ooh and here is the meal I made for me and hubby the other day - It was spagetti nests stuffed with roasted vegetables!!
ok so the nests were overflowing slightly as my muffin tins were a little too small lol.

Also, meet our pet cockroach :)  He doesn't like playing out much and we really should give him a name hehe. Considering how little he actually eats he is quite the beast.

Halloween Kitty

Hi there,

I want to share an ATC with you that I made last week for a challenge, and then didn't actually do the blog post!!

This is going to be flying its way out to New Zealand next week, along with a birthday card, for a lovely lady in the ATC exchange group with me. I just hope she doesn't read my blog before it arrives lol.

I took an autumnal ATC patterned paper and layered it onto white card to create a strong base. Oh and here are those pumpkins I was looking for the other day - the kitty had already stolen them lol. I added these stickers to either side of a foiled kitty sticker (the blue on the kitty matches the birthday card, but you will have to wait to see that one!). To finish I added a halloween sentiment sticker - overall a nice simple ATC.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Country View #56 Mixed media with autumnal hues (I find mixed media difficult but used a variety of materials in my stickers - glitter, foam, foil, and paper). Hope this counts?
SUYP #23 Meowloween
MTTC #357 Halloween or cats (or both?)
CCM #198 Spooky
AYLI - people or animals - I prefer animals on my creations as they are much more versatile.
Alphabet Challenge - P for Pumpkins
City Crafter #384 Pumpkins
craftycatz #389 Autumn colours
allsorts #438 Halloween

Halloween!!

Hi there,

It is time to introduce our Halloween challenge over at Aud Sentiments. How exciting - I do love Halloween, and I canot wait to get all the decorations down from the attic!! Now I just need to decide on a fancy dress costume.

  Challenge #191
The theme for this challenge is Halloween + A Sentiment

You can make any type of project you want for this challenge such as a card, tag, scrapbook layout, altered item, pocket letter, box, etc.  Just make sure you follow the theme and include a sentiment.

We are sponsored by Paper Nest Dolls
Paper Nest Dolls
I have used Wizard Owen for my card:
I used a black base card with a bright orange envelope (the card is resting on the envelope, but I actually wish I had used the orange card and layered a black panel over it now lol). I coloured the image with promarkers and layered onto a purple glitter card. The sentiment was a free gift with a magazine and I heat embossed using Papermania Seafoam White that I recently bought. I didn't have a pure white and so I decided I needed to get one, and am now very glad I did. Finally I added a monster to the bottom - I wanted a pumpkin but it appears I have used all the pumpkins already!

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Crafting by designs - It's Halloween
ATSM #264 CAS
CAGI - Purple, orange and black
CCM #198 Spooky

Purple Paradise??

Welcome to my second DT post for the day. (I do also have some personal cards to share, but they will have to wait for another day now, as I really need to start getting ready for work lol). This post is for our new challenge over at Creative Moments. As always challenge #129 is Anything Goes, with the optional twist of Purple Paradise. Our fabulous sponsors for this challenge are
Dr. Digi
Who are offering two images to the winner
Who are offering a $15 voucher for the entire store to the winner
I have used Weekend Walter & Weekend Wanda from Dr Digi.

My hubby has the exact same bear slippers, which is why I chose the image, but I struggled to think of a sentiment. Therefore, I left room for a sentiment once the card has a specified recipient :). So firstly I cut some patterned and glitter Papermania paper and layered it in strips on some glitter cardstock. I wanted the effect to be a little bit higgledy-piggledy, but not too much, so cut a couple of slanted edges and made the central panel a little smaller. The idea was for a first thing in the morning look - slightly disheaveled. I layered a square of plain purple over this, which does have a little bit of a sparkle too. The images were coloured with Promarkers and then fussy-cut to layer over the panels.

I would like to enter this card for the following challenges:
PFP #417 Anything Goes
Sweet Stampin' - Sparkle and Shine
simply create too #132 Favourite Colour - purple is one of my favourite colours

And here is another cross stitch - this one recently finished at just under 6 hours I think!

Once again thank you for looking - now off to work for me!

Birthday Present for Ewe

Hi there,

Just got back from Tenerife yesterday, so frantically trying to get caught up with everything now. I hadn't realised I would have no internet at all!! Thank you EE for that. It was a lovely surprise though, if a bit of a shock being woken at 3am Thursday morning as we had to leave (I had no idea where we were going and thought we were staying in the UK). Had some lovely weather and lots of time to read my book and do some stitching (although didn't do as much stitching as I would have liked just due to the heat).

So got back last night, and frantically finished my DT creations for this week. Here is my first one, which is for our new challenge over at I Love Promarkers. Challenge #345 is a Birthday challenge -
Our sponsor is  Bugaboo
The Prize for the lucky winner is
2 Digi Images

I have used Happy Birthday To Ewe for my card - with an attempt at no-line colouring that didn't quite work out as I had planned - I may need to go over some of the lines with a black fineliner!

I think I maybe ruined the poor ewes eyes too!!! Anyway - I used a balloon patterned base card, layered a doily and then cut a tag out of grass-like patterned paper. I stuck a peel-off sentiment to the tag. The image was coloured with a range of Promarker pens and then fussy cut before sticking behind the tag with foam pads for added dimension.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Glitter 'n' sparkle #261 Anything Goes
 Crafting by Designs Anything Goes
Cute as a button #38 Anything goes
not just cards - Anything Goes

I am not sure if I already shared this fish tank update with you - but you probably forgot anyway if I did lol. This is now at 155hr 38:

There will be a few photos to come from Tenerife, but not many as I only had my phone camera as OH decided to leave my main camera at home :(

In the meantime I cannot wait to see what you all create for our challenge and thank you for looking,

Wedding Cake

Hi there,

I have finally started on the first Scrapbook from my wedding (only about 18months after the event itself!). I find scrapbooking really difficult, and I think it shows just from these first two pages!

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

I went for a wedding cake themed layout. I edited the pictures in befunky.com, using some nice effects for the edges, just because these were the initial pages. I printed them on photo card and then trimmed to size - maybe slightly larger woud have been better?

I then took some green glitter paper (the wedding colours were green and red) and used red peel-off letters. Finally I layered green and pink paper flowers and added some pretty pink hearts.

I would like to enter these layouts for the following challenges:
Simply Create Too #132 Favourite Colour Combo (I have gone for green and red, on neutral)
Kort 'o' Mania #184 Anniversary
AYLI - Ribbons or Flowers - I have used flowers on my layouts as I think they add a little interest without looking out of place, while ribbon can be difficult to place correctly.
C4C405 Photo Inspiration

I also have a fish tank update for you all!!! Only about 160hrs so far!
And a few garden pics from last year that were on my phone!

Prickly Greetings

Hi guys,

I have another new card to share with you today - this one is for the Limited Runs Progressive Challenge #8! I do love their images, and they certainly get you thinking! I decided this one was perfect for a male birthday card.

I coloured the image using Promarkers and then cut using a rectangle die. I then cut a piece of watercolour effect backing paper to layer behind the image. I added a strip of Washi tape to the lower third of a pale blue card blank and layered the image panel over to the right. I added a sentiment with a watercolour effect border and a bit of bling underneath - even men like their bling. To finish I used a little green bow.

I would also like to enter this card into the following challenges:
613 Avenue Create #202 Masculine Card
ATSAM #262 Make your Mark
CuteCardThursday #498 Anything Goes

And some more photo's off my phone:

I will have some more cross stitch updates, but I keep forgetting to take a picture!

Thanks for looking,

Glamourous Girls!

Welcome to a new challenge over at Aud Sentiments. Challenge #190 requires the use of die-cuts, as well as that all important sentiment. This challenge is sponsored by The Paper Shelter
.
How about using the die-cut as the sentiment? That is what I have done for my card.
I used the pre-coloured image from The Glamorous Girls set, as I thought the colourng was perfect for the background I wanted to use. I layered them together digitally before printing and cutting. I used a First Edition tag die set to create the sentiment, using pink glitter card for the base tag, and blue holographic paper for the layered tag, allowing the sentiment to shine through in pink. (I kept the letters to one side for use at a later date). I also die-cut a champagne glass from X-cut glitter paper and layered this over the image. To finish I added a simple ribbon bow.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Glitter 'n' Sparkle #259 Think Pink
AYLI - Ribbon or Flowers - I have used both in this card as I think for a touch of elegance flowers are very girly and stylish, but a ribbon bow can really finish the design off.
Crafting by Design - Anything Goes
Dragonfly Dreams - Fully Loaded (busy background and layered dies)

I also found some more of those lovely knitted critters from a couple of years back on my phone!

Sorry lots of poor quality pictures - but I just think these woolen creatures were fabulous!

Thanks for looking and I cannot wait to see what you create for our challenge blog!
