Pink Party

What a lovely Monday it has been - shame I had to work for the main part of the day :(, and then OH is still at work too! But it could be worse so I will stop complaining. I made a pretty in pink birthday card yesterday that I am going to share with you guys now:

I took a basic square card blank and covered this with a celebration feeling patterned paper. I then added some sparkly washi tape down one side. I stamped the image onto a scalloped square from my stash and coloured with watercolour brush markers. I then stamped the sentiment and heat embossed in lilac (it is slightly easier to see in real life). To finish I added some small bubble sticker cupcakes.

Card Blank - papermania 6x6" card blanks
Washi Tape from The Works
Image - Honey and Hugs
Colouring Medium - Papermania watercolour brush markers - pastels
Lilac embossing powder from ebay.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Die Cuttin Divas #331 Birthday Celebration
CCEE1734 Watercolour
inkspirational #142 oldie but goodie
Kort 'o' mania #181 Bling

Fishing Fun

Well apparently we are supposed to be having a heat wave in the coming weeks. It is going to wait until I have gone away on holiday and my plants can't be watered isn't it!! That would just be typical! Anyway, I have a little masculine card to share with you today - showing an activity a lot of me like to do in the nice weather:

These are rub-on's from the Pepper and Friends collection - just perfect for a man don't you think?

Inside Card
I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
MMM #53 Lazy Days of Summer
AYLI - Fur or Feathers - I actually like both just as much. For this card I have gone for the cuddle factor that fur has.
Animal Friends #53 Sport/Hobby
Dragonfly Dreams - Animals

I also have a finished Cross Stitch Kit to share - now just to make it up into a finished piece ready to use this Christmas!!
Thank you for taking the time to look at my creations,

Technical Thinking of You

Welcome back guys,

Today I have a card to share with you that has been created for two of my challenges - the first is my Crafting Techniques group on facebook, where this months technique is Tea-Bag folding, and the second challenge is our new one over at Aud Sentiments. Our challenge this time is sympathy/Thinking of you and we have a gift voucher for one lucky winner :).

I used eight square tea-bag folding patterns and the instructions for making this thick star can be found here:  http://www.handcraftedgreetings.com/layeredstar.php

The difficult part is getting all the pieces to sit together nicely lol. I didn't want to detract from the star too much, so used a strip of pearls just underneath and then a peel-off sentiment. Annoyingly I have realised now that the pearls are not quite central - or maybe it is the way I took the photo because I am sure they look central on the actual card!! Grr.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
not just cards #47 Anything Goes
CASology #263 Bud

I would also like to  share an update on my fish tank - at 154.5 hours!

We have a poorly female mallard up on our fishing lake at the top of our housing estate. I had to try and locate her this morning so I could ring the swan rescue back, but the ducks are not playing nicely and I now have to head out to work. Have left a message on the local group, so hopefully somebody will locate her and then call the swan rescue!!

Anyway - time for me to run,

Baby Shower

Time to tell you about our new challenge over at Creative Moments. Our theme is always anything goes and this time we do not have a twist. Our sponsors are Rick St Denis and DigiStamps 4 Joy.

I have used Washing Line from DS4J to create my card:
I layered the digital sections together over a sunset background to create the washing on the line. I also used a pram digi which I layered over the top of the washing line panel. I added washi tape to the card base before layering, and then a peel off sentiment to finish.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
ATSM #256 Anything Goes
TIOT - In my garden (I hang out the washing :D)
MAWTT #52 Things beginning with B (Baby Boy, Bib)
Crafting by Design - Anything Goes
A Snowflakes Promise - Anything Goes

I picked the first of my cherry tomatoes earlier this week - so I just had to take a picture! I have had a few more off the plants now - they have lots of fruit and it is starting to ripen!!

Thanks for looking and hope to see you popping along to the blog :)

Summer Fun

Welcome back to another Wednesday of challenges :). As usual I will share the new challenge over at I Love Promarkers with you all first, and then I need to go and get my hair sorted out. There will then be another new challenge shared later this afternoon!

Had a busy morning already as OH took the morning off so that we could meet up with our pet sitter - having so many animals makes going away rather difficult sometimes (the plants are not much easier either lol). This little old man certainly needs daily checks as he is over 3 years old!!

'Mum I think this brush is a little large!'

However, onto the new I Love Promarkers challenge - #341 Summer, sponsored byDigital Delights.

I have used Bird bath Bobby for my card (he seemed to be a popular choice for the DT):
I used a pale grey base card, to reflect the stone bird bath. I layered the image inside a scalloped frame (aso from Digital Delights) and coloured with promarkers. I picked up a large bag of die-cuts and Hunkydory toppers from a charity shop when visiting Gavins grandparents at the weekend and this lovely floral panel was in there, which I thought complimented my frame really well. Finally, to add the feel of summer fun I added a border of ladybirds and a peel-off sentiment.

Promarkers used: Mustard, Pastel Yellow, Eggnog, Dusky Pink, Oatmeal, Pink Carnation, Satin, Antique Pink, Fresh Meadow, Frosted Leaf and Marine.

Do check out the blog to see what the other DT members have created.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
not just cards #47 Anything Goes
Dragonfly Dreams - Animals
MMM #53 Lazy Days of Summer
Scrapbook stamp society #123 Die-cuts or punches
TIOT - In my Garden
MAWTT #43 Things beginning with B (Bird, Bath, Bobby)
Fussy and Fancy #194 Things with wings
Cute Card Thursday #491 Fun in the Sun

Here is a picture of Ruby - another of our mice who we lost just at the weekend:

Thanks for looking and I hope to see you joining in with our summer challenge!!

China Blue Birthday

Hi there,

I have a cross stitched birthday card to share with you today. I haven't shared it sooner as I didn't want to risk the recipient seeing it before her birthday. But here it is now:

I used a pre-patterned base card, blue pearlised cardstock, silver peel-offs and my stitching of the recipients initials.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Allsorts #428 Name or number (OK this is just the initials - does it still count?)
C4C398 Monochromatic
OLL #235 Flowers
TIOT - In my garden
A snowflakes promise - Anything Goes

Oooh I made a rhubard pastry pudding thing the other day - using homegrown rhubarb of course (unfortunately they were frozen from my allotment that I no longer have). The pudding was quite yummy, but I am not keen on pastry so hubby had most of it lol.
It doesn't look all that nice here, but that is because the sugar has caramalised on the top, not because it is burnt!

We went for a nature walk at the weekend. I haven't had chance to go through and sort out all of the pictures yet, but here are a few that are good:

Lots of critters seen and photographed - I just need to go through them and get their quality improved and then Ican forward them to the people that want them lol.

Thank you for looking,

OLC - Birdie Wishes

Hi there,

I decided to have a play with serif CraftArtist last night and this is what I came up with:

It is actually printed on a square card with a white bordered edge, but for some reason when I added my watermark it has really made the card pale and difficult to see (or maybe it is the colour balance on my computer?).

I was inspired by the following challenges:
Dragonfly Dreams - Animals
ATCAS #117 OLC (printed straight onto cardstock)
MAWTT #51 Things that fly
AHS #224

And here is the inside of the card - I have actually added a sentiment inside too!!!

I have some wildlife pictures to share from in the garden from last week (those rare occasions when we had a little bit of sun):

Mushroom - he was very thin and unfortunately I accidentally squashed him shortly after taking this photo, as I needed to water my plants!!

Look at the damage!!

Common Darter visiting the garden

Look at those lovely colours. There was also a second one that was sat on the bed part of the hutch that was even redder! We have a few of these round the pond as we noticed when we went out to feed the ducks earlier today. They are flying alongside Southern Hawker dragonflies. Unfortuately I didn't have my camera with me so no photos were taken :(

Here is a fish tank update also @ just over 154 hours.
Yup it is really getting there now!! Just need a few more hours where I do not have anything else to do and I might even finish it - hear that Time Fairy!!! lol.

Thanks for looking,

Hugz Tinz

Fantastic Dreams

Hi there everybody,

Our new challenge theme over at Aud Sentiments is Fairies. We want to see fairies of all kinds displayed on your creations this time - but don't forget that all important sentiment!! We are sponsored by the lovely Paper Nest Dolls, and I have used Fairy Emma with Unicorn for my creation.

I coloured the image using Promarkers and then used X-cut nesting scalloped circle dies to shape both the image and some pink glitter card. I layered these together and then onto a square of holographic paper. Finally I layered some pastel pink with gold embossed arrears onto a white base card, and layered my image panel onto this. To finish I layered a fairy sentiment from last months Quick Cards magazine onto the holographic paper.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Simon Says Monday - Happy Birthday
PFP #407 Just Add Glitter
SOS #315 Spice Up Your Life (inspired by Baby Spice of course) - the papers have been in my stash for a while
Simon Says Wednesday - For a child
CRAFT #428 Anything Goes
MAWTT #51 Things that fly
MTTC #351 Sketch

I also have some pictures of my indoor plants to share:

And an update on my Dino @ 36hr 40

Stack of funny cups :D

Hello there - we have a make it funny twist for our Anything Goes challenge this time over at Creative Moments. I have used Scribbles Tea Cup Stack from Scribbles, but we are also sponsored by Dr Digi this time - do check out the blog for some makes using these images too!! I wanted to use a normal image and make it into something funny.

So I paper pieced the teacups on the computer (I couldn't do the middle two in different colours as it just wouldn't sit right - so I decided two yellow polka dots was fine!). I then used the same digital paper as was on the top teacup to make a sentiment panel - I know lots of people that would agree with this sentiment! Finally I added some butterfl 3D stickers to make a very girly card.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
MAWTT #51 Things that fly
Craftingbydesign - Anything Goes
Avenue 613 #200 Shabby Chic (style of tea-cups)

I would like to share a fishtank update, at about 153 hours:
And also some more of my plants - these ones are all from my balcony:

I have trugs in four different colours :) lol.

Anyway thank you once again for looking,

Hugz Tinz
