The Graveyard Snowman

It is time for a new challenge over at I Love Promarkers, and this time we want to see your Snowmen. Our sponsor is Col Art (Letraset)  who are offering a promarker set. I have used Selfie Santa from Dr Digi House of Stamps for my creation.

I used a gold base card and folded it backwards so that the colour was on the inside. I then folded the top in half to create an easel card. The base I layered with snowflakes, from a free Christmas pack from last year, and a penguin gel sticker that I got in a craft clearance. I then layered a character patterned paper to the front fold of the top part of the card. The penguins are part of the patterned paper and I thought they worked really well with the image. The image was coloured with promarkers (ok so I did not actually colour it this time as the hubby wanted to join in - so he did the colouring for this one, and I think he did quite well actually). I cut this to shape and then stuck it down on three sides. The tag was layered onto pearlescent purple card and then slotted in behind the image. Finally I added a foam snowflake to hold the tag in place.

I was thinking this card might be nice as a voucher card - the voucher could slot in with the tag.

I would like to enter this card for the following challenges:
Crafty Catz #348 Christmas Tags
 Creative Corner - Winter
Allsorts #391 Anything Christmas
craftyhazelnut Christmas #309 Use a Sentiment
Sweet Stampin' - Got the Blues
ATSM #222 Make your mark
Crafting by Designs - Anything Goes

I also finished colouring my majestic gorilla:
And here is the latest audiobook review:

The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaimen
A family is murdered in the middle of the night, but the baby makes his way out to the graveyard. Jack is determined to finish the job and with his special senses follows the boy to the graveyard. The boy should end up dead, however the residents of the graveyard itself get involved. The boy grows up among the graveyard residents, and develops powers of the graveyard. However, as he gets older he wants more contact with the living, but this has more dangers than he could imagine. A very good book, well written and amusing.

Thanks for looking on this cold and frosty evening,

Sweet Thang

Ok so the theme I had in mind for this one was the harvests of autumn. Being an allotment holder in the not too distant past I was obviously thinking harvest in terms of things I had grown. But I also wanted to make a card that could be used for a birthday, if required, as I always seem to be short on birthday cards.

So here is what I came up with:
I layered some papermania Christmas vellum over a textured red card blank. I cut a fancy frame from a spellbinders nesting die set and stamped a jamjar onto it from a Creative Impessions stamp set free with Creative Stamping magazine. I also stamped a raspberry onto the label using Boofle red ink. The iage was coloured with promarkers. I stamped the sentiment from the same set onto the red die-cut label, using Stayz-on ink and drying with a heat tool. I layered these onto the card base and finished by adding some gems. A nice clean and layered card this time.

I would like to enter this card for the following challenges:

City Crafter - #339 Gold Finger

I would also like to share my latest beaded creation with you - a knot bracelet:

And here is an audiobook review for you!

Good Omens by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaimen
This is a story about the Antichrist. Actually the story is about the events surrounding the antichrist and in particular two angels, one an angel of heaven and one an angel of hell. They have lived on Earth for a very long time and have come to enjoy human company, and so they do not want the apocalypse to arrive. Therefore they keep one another posted about what their relative sides are going to do, and work together to try and bring the antichrist up as human as possible. This occurs much better than they expected as they find out when they realise the child they have been watching and encouraging is not actually the antichrist at all! This is an amusing story with some very great ideas about angels and religion. I enjoyed listening to this and would recommend it, even to those that are very religious, as it does not actually ridicule or make fun of religion, just sees a slightly different perspective of what could happen.

Vintage Peace

Hi there,

I have a post for you at the weekend!! WOW lol.

I hve gone for a shabby-chic/vintage floral style for my Christmas card this week. I used a Shabby-chic cd-rom that my mum got free for having her letter published in a magazine, and then passed on to me as she doesn't do digital cardmaking lol.

Here is my creation:
I layered up the items from the CD-Rom (which takes forever with my current laptop - less than a year old and terribly slow!), and then added a word-art sentiment down the side. Unfortunately the printer did not like the last E and no matter how I moved things around refused to accept it was there - so I added it in metallic Promarker - also adding some metallic to the rest of the letters. I like using digital elements to make a single layer card.

I would like to enter this creation into the following challenges:
My time to craft #334 No layers
CRaFT #390 Christmas
Craftycatz #347 Use red
OLL #217 Vintage
ABC Christmas - W for Wishes (Wish for peace)
OLS #33 Peace be with you

I would also like to post an update on my Christmas fairies:

Sailor Bear and Dino's

Hi everybody,

Time for a new challenge over at I Love Promarkers, and this time we do not want to see any patterned papers. Our sponsor this time is Digital Delights:

I have used Sailor Simonfor my card:
I used a Kraft base card and layered two pearlescent squares onto this, white and blue. I tore a strip from the white and laid it down one side, and die-cut a scalloped circle also from white. I die-cut large labels X-cut dies from red pearlescent cardstock and also the image. I coloured the image with Promarkers and then finished the card with a bow and a sentiment.

Promarkers Used - Ltd. edition March Hare and Tawney Owl - Normal Pastel Beige, Sunkissed Pink, Cardinel Red, Duck Egg, China Blue, Umber and Cool Grey 5.

I would also like to enter this card for the following challenges:
Atlantic Hearts Sketch 186

I have completed the birth sampler for a lady at work, and it is framed and backed! The main design took 23.5 hours and the information took a further 2 hours.
