Christmas in July @ Aud Sentiments

Yup it is July, which means we do have to have some Christmas challenges :) We do not disappoint over at Aud Sentiments. Our sponsors for this challenge are All Dressed Up
Of course you do need to include a sentiment on whatever you create (which doesn't have to be a card).

I have used Christmas Snow Globe for my card.
I coloured the image with Promarkers and fussy cut it. I used a snowglobe shaped base card and added a glitter card to the back of the snowglobe area, and then layered the image onto this. I also added some gold trimmed ribbon and a sentiment to the snowglobe base. Finally I added some mini die-cut snowflakes in gold, and white punched snowflakes.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
SOS #363 Christmas in July (stash being card blank, ribbon, snowflakes and sentiment)
modsquad - Christmas in July
CRAFT #477 Christmas
Crafty Hazelnuts #394 Die or punch (the snowflakes are both)
C4C443 Shaped cards
TIOT - Add a quote (it is a song lyric, which is technically a quote - hope it counts)
AYLI - Ribbons or Buttons - Ribbons are easier to incorporate onto your cards, and they are flat so don't add bulk!
MAWTT #76 Wild Animals
Simply Create Too #140 No patterned paper

I hope you can join us for this challenge!

Bloomin' Wishes

Once again I have left it until the last minute to make my card for the Limited Runs progressive challenge - but here is it now!

I coloured the image with promarkers and used M&C stitched square nesting dies to cut it out, before trimming it to fit the highly patterned card blank (as it is a floral I decided a patterned blank would be great. To finish I simply added a flower and a sentiment banner (and a bunny image inside too).

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Simon Says Stamp Monday - Summer Fun
SOS #362 Feed Me
modsquad - Floral Birthday
ATSM #300 Happy Birthday
Alphabet Challenge - H for Happy Birthday
notjustcards - Anything Goes

And here are some geese to leave you with (very friendly geese lol).

Beary Nice @ Creative Moments

OK my second DT post - I am running very late tonight lol. I need my bed, so this will be a quick post I am afraid!

We have a new challenge over at Creative Moments, with the optional twist of Teddy Bears picnic. I have used Stinker - Bear and Skunk from one of our sponsors (see the blog for the others) -

I used the colour version of the image as it is just so cute! I layered this onto a pale blue card before adding to a papermania Geometric card base (I thought the pattern went well with the image). To finish I simply added some diamantes. I was going to add a sentiment, but thought it would be best to wait until it had a recipient so the sentiment can be very personal :)

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
MAWTT #75 Male themed
Intaas #37 Summer Fun
allsorts #475 In my Garden

Thanks for looking - can't wait to see your creations!

Christmas in July @ I Love Promarkers

Oops - I didn't schedule my post. Sorry if you have already been across looking for it! It would have to be on the one week when I am working late too lol.

So the optional twist for our I Love Promarkers challenge is Christmas in July (so any Christmas projects using Promarkers). We are sponsored by
, and I have used Elvis the Elf for my simple creation.

Promarkers - Cool Grey 4 - March Hare - Salmon Pink - Poppy - Caramel - Cinnamon - Gold - Icicle - Emerald.
I mounted the image onto foiled Kraft card which I cut a scalloped edge down both sides before matting onto a bright yellow base card. I thought it might be quite quirky to have the candy canes upside down for my quirky little elf. Finally I added a felt snowflake as I had to cut it slightly closer on the top (I didn't think about it when I added the second image on the cardstock!).

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Sweet Stampin' - Christmas in July (digi)
SOS #362 Feed me - candy canes (only the digi is new stock)
AYLI - Fav celebration - I always love creating for Christmas (I also love decorating the house lol)
MAWTT #75 Males
A snowflakes promise #53 Anything Goes

Right thanks for looking,

Bloomin' fun

I do now have another card to share with you - It uses a stamp from Ladybird Crafts Inc and a Craftwork cards paper and dimensionals pad.

I stamped the image with Pretty Colour ink and coloured it with Papermania watercolour markers. I then layered the elements together using the sketch from Atlantic Hearts #271.

I wasn't intending to flip the sketch, until I realised I had put the bottom patterned paper onto the card blank the wrong way round!! But I still managed to make it work lol.

I would also like to enter this card into the following challenges:

craftycatz #424 - Summer Fun
craftycalendar - Totally Girlie
card mania #106 anything Goes

I thought you might want a goose and gosling update - so here we are:

Thanks for looking - back out to feed the greedy little sods now!

Flowers @ Aud Sentiments

It is time for our new challenge at Aud Sentiments, and this time our theme is flowers - just don't forget that the sentiment is an important part of your creation too!

We are sponsored by  Paper Nest Dolls
for this challenge and I have used Make A Wish for my card:

To make this card I printed the image twice, and coloured each image identically using promarkers (nope I didn't record the colours I used). The mini image was always designated for the interior of the card, and I matted it onto some tie-dye paper. I added a patterned blue floral paper with a fancy floral peel-off also.
The main image was layered onto a larger panel of this same blue floral paper, onto a white card blank. I added a flower border peel-off down the left and a flower and sentiment die-cut from the same paper pad as the patterned paper (I cannot remember for the life of me what it was called though).

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
AYLI - Favourite Celebration - I love birthday celebration cards as they can be so unique!
Cute Card Thursday #537 Anything Goes
The Paper Players #400 Celebration
PFP #451 Add a sentiment

I have a yoga session at work this evening, so this post will be finished later than usual! And then late tonight I am going bat watching. I think I will be a tired little girl tomorrow for work lol.

I do quickly have some pictures of the birds that visit my garden:

AND my garden thistle too lol

Dino time

Wow it is really muggy today, but still lovely. Should be getting a little bit of rain tomorrow which my garden will very much appreciate! I do not have a card to share with you today - the next card will be for the new challenge at Aud Sentiments on Thursday! However, I do have an update on my dinosaurs to share with you.

This is currently at ???hours (I need to check :P) and is coming along nicely. I will get it finished eventually lol.

I am thinking I cannot enter this for any of the challenges - mainly because it isn't quite finished :D

However, do pop over to my facebook pages to find out about the new themes for this month!

The Crafting Technique in focus this time is Assissi work. What can you come up with?

The Monthly Theme in my other group is: Grunge it up!

At the moment I have two of the little birds playing out, and they have decided it is time to breed! But not very wellas Billie doesn't seem to be able to figure out what he is supposed to do, apart from stand on Pipers back. I am sure she is getting a lovely neck and shoulder massage though lol. Seriously - you wouldn't think that Beau came from these two!

I bought a couple of Magnolia trees from Thompson and Morgan and I think I really need to get round to emailing them as this is what they still look like :(
However, I do have some lovely poppies and some bright orange things (can't remember what they are):

Thanks for looking,

Hugz Tinz

Many Mower Returns

Hi there,

I quickly have a new card to share with you before I head to bed.

I used a patterned base card and then added peel-offs. The stamp was a Joanna Sheen (I think) stamp free with Creative Stamping, as was the sentiment. I cut these together and left them uncoloured. I coloured the rose using a red permanant marker. Finally I added peel-offs inside the card too.

I wouldlike to enter this into he following challenges:
The Male Room #88 Inspired by a film title (Lawnmower Man AND The Secret Garden)
CCEE1826 Relaxation (I know many men that find either mowing the lawn, or gardening in general relaxing)
The Paper Players #400 Celebration

To find out what has been happening in the wild this weekend, please visit Chuckys Nature Notes.

Thanks for looking,

Summer @ Creative Moments

Yup, you guessed it - the optional twist for this challenge is to make it summery!! Well we certainly have the weather for it at the moment! I have used Summer Grilling #2 by Sprinkle&Sparkle for my unusual card as I think that barbeques definitely shout summer:

I used the burger and the hotdog motifs and coloured them with promarkers. Before printing I combined the hotdog with the tongs (ok so it is a very small hotdog, but that is all the fun about a BBQ isn't it lol). I layered them onto some very summery, but masculine, patterned paper that was free with a cardmaking magazine recently. I then finished this off with peel-off stickers.

Back from work and I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Simply Create Too #139 For a male
inkspirational #163 Use small stamps (these are small digi stamps - hope they count?)
Simon Says Monday - Food and/or Drink

I will leave you with some pictures:

My Clematis is tiny and I do not know why - there are several flower buds, it just doesn't seem to want to climb! The tall thing is a Chard lol.

 This one is a passionflower

If you want to know more about this picture:
...then please pop over to Chucky's Nature Notes

Thanks for looking,

Embellish It @ I Love Promarkers

Welcome to a lovely sunny Wednesday (far too nice to be stuck at work all day!). We have a new challenge for you over at I Love Promarkers. Don't forget we are now Always Anything Goes but the twist for this challenge is to use 3 or more embellishments.

Our sponsor  Fabrika Fantasy

The Prize for the lucky winner is
3 Digi's of winners choice

I have used Summer Kitten 2 for my card:
OK so I have used a wooden umbrella (as a sun shade of course), a wave and seagull topper, and then a sentiment topper too. It is a very beach inspired card this time, probably because I wish that is where I was lol. I coloured the image with the following Promarkers - Tulip Yellow, Pastel Pink, Sandstone, Warm Grey 1, Cocoa and Grass.

I would like to add this into the following challenges:
A Snowflakes Promise #52 Anything Goes
City Crafter #418 Seaside
PFP #450 Weather
SUYP #31 Furrything Goes

I also have some more of my balcony plants to share with you:

I am not sure why the plants do not fill out here quite as well as elsewhere. I am going to try a seaweed based feed on them later tonight and see if that helps at all.

And here is another audiobook review at long last:

Monstrous Regiment by Terry Pratchett
This is a story about an army for a small country? that has a God that makes EVERYTHING an abomination, and doesn’t feel that it is being productive unless it is engaged in war with somebody. Ankh Morpork have sent Vimes to try and stop the war before too many people lose their lives. However, this story is not actually set around Vimes, but rather around a small force of unusual troops for the attacking army. Each of the unusual characters has a reason for wanting to join the army at a time when nobody is volunteering due to the lack of men coming home. The sergent, Jackram, is a very loud and obnoxious man, but will do anything to make his ‘little lads’ good fighters and also keep them safe. He is also quite quick at discerning what people are and what it is that they want, and often uses this to his advantage.
As usual this is a very amusing story with some fun twists, some outlandish happenings (not to mention outlandish characters) and Terry did a great job in just keeping you interested right to the very end. This is another one of those stories that I cannot read, but can quite happily listen to it on audio, so I would recommend giving it a try even if you are not usual into Terry Pratchetts books. Very light-hearted and humorous.

Anyway, thanks for looking and I cannot wait to see what embellishments you choose to use on your creation,

Hugz Tinz
