Dies/Punches @ I Love Promarkers

Our new challenge over at I Love Promarkers is all about using your dies or punches. Of course we are an anything goes blog, but we do love to see you playing the twist along with us :). Our sponsor for this challenge is StarStampz

I have made two cards for this as the images were so very different. My first uses Cinderella
I made this one into a princess birthday card using pastel shades and a with love sentiment die-cut as well as a pearlescent white stitched-square die-cut (M&C). I also used some stars left over from a previous die-cut (a circular frame with star border) to adorn the princess image after colouring her with Promarkers.

The second card uses Goth Girl
For this one I have gone darker using black die-cuts and red accents along with a splash of pearlescent white. All the die-cuts, except for the leaf, were from my ATC friends - the leaf is my die. I added red diamantes to finish after colouring the image with Promarkers.

Sketched puppy

Hi there,

Just a quick post to share with you a card I made following the AHSC sketch:

I will also be entering more challenges, but will have to pop these on tomorrow due to work in the morning. Anyway, here is my card:

It is a birthday card for my little neice who is 5 and loves the in-laws new puppy, who looks just like this, so I couldn't resist. I used patterned paper to create the sketch panels, and then fussy cut the glitter topper and added some peel-offs.

I'm back and I would like to enter this card into the following challenges also:
CuteCardThursday #543 Spots and Dots (In the stripes of patterned paper)
inkspirational #167 Photo inkspiration

Anything Goes @ Aud Sentiments

Yup, we have an anything goes challenge for you over at Aud Sentiments - all we require is that you add a setiment to your creation. We have a gift voucher up for grabs, so get your creative hats on and show us what you have been crafting. Here is my creation:

I took the opportunity, and an idea from an old magazine, to work on my wedding scrapbook #1. I am thinking I should have kept the centre in the first one and layered the photo over the top, but I do love the cake page.

I  would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Crafting by Design - Anything Goes
notjustcards - Anything Goes

I have some free growing violas in the middle of my lawn, and they have managed to survive, even when the guinea pig was on top of them mnching away on everything!

I also wanted to share a photo of my pet spider - this one is mine, not Gavins lol:

And finally I have my two recent potato harvests - the first was grown in an old compost bag - the 45L ones, and the second was grown in a potato bag.

Words of wisdom

Hi guys,

I had a go at making a bookmark last night, and here it is:
I layered a patterned paper (received in a recent ATC exchange) onto thin cream card, and then onto thick orange card (aka melon and pumpkin coloured cards :D). I then stamped the sentiment from an Indigo Blu stamp set that came with simply crads and papercraft magazine. I used Carvded Pumpkin and scattered straw distress inks, and then Pretty Colour black over the top. I repeated this combination for the dragonfly and leaf from the same stamp set, however I then added an extra leaf in the Pumpkin. To finish I punched a hole so that a ribbon or charm can be added.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
Simply Create Too #141 Make a bookmark
dragonflydreams - Monochrome (orange spectrum)
The Paper Players - colour challenge

SOS #376 Leaf it to me
C4C447 Bugs

Sorry for the quick post but I have to head off now.

Dream away

Hi there,

I have a new card for the most recent Limited Runs progressive challenge (only just got it completed in time - I coloured the image ages ago, but kept getting diverted from making the card up!). But here it is finally:

I used a lilac base card with a course grain to enhance the distressed effect. I then used something Pumpkin distressed ink and a chevron stencil that I got free with a Making Cards magazine I believe. I dabbed the ink into te stencil direct, and then for the first time used my blending pad to move the ink into the chevrons. The image was coloured with Promarkers and die-cut using X-cut large oval nesting die. I inked the edge with the same ink as the card base.
The sentiment was stamped using Scattered Straw distress ink and some sentiment stamps that were also free with a magazine. Finally I added a red bow and flower, with a red diamante centre.

I would liek to enter this card into the following challenges:
Firstly Limited Runs Progressive (obviously)
Not just cards - Anything Goes
The Male Room #91 Birthday
MAWTT #77 For the boys
TIOT - Inspired by a song (Zombie by the Cranberries)
Allsorts - From boys to men

I now have some mudskippers to show you (Bristol Zoo):

A flower posing with some bumblebees and hoverflies :D:

Look at te colour on that flower!

And finally my recent cross stitch finish, which was for my Assissi technique in focus:

Fun of travelling ATC collection

Hi there,

I had to mmake some ATC's as I am due to send some out, but I also wanted to play along with the sketch at Cheerful Sketches.
Therefore, this is the collection I came up with:
I used plain card for the ATC base and either ribbon or washi tape for the central line. I then used a punch to punch butterflies and another for the dove, in place of the squares. For two of the cards I used some stickers instead. To finish three of them I used a sticker pack for adventure. For the forth I wanted it to be a little different, as not everybody goes away on holiday, and so I thought this gnome with the lazy day sentiment was perfect.

I would like to enter this collection into the following challenges also:
MAWTT #77 For the boys
Addicted to CAS #142 Masculine (the two with the monohrome circles)
SimonsaysMonday - Tape it up (Silver and yellow have washi tape)

Here is my new WIP update (6 1/2 hours):
And here are some bird pictures from our outing to Bristol Zoo:

Kitty Focus @ Creative Moments

Our twist for this challenge over at Creative Moments is to add some cats to your creation - I love cats so this was a nice easy one for me :)  I have used Cat Lady 'All My Cats' from one of our sponsors - Bestie

I coloured the image using papermania watercolour markers and then cut a scalloped edge with my paper trimmer. I used a patterned base card and simply added some gems and a sticker sentiment.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
ATSM #304 CAS
 CCEE1831 Colouring
inkspirational #166 10 min card (just under 10 mins due to the colouring)
SUYP #33 Furrything Goes

Here is the book review as promised:

The Last Girl by Jane Casey
This is another Maeve Kerrigan story. I got a few of them from kobo as they were on offer, and it is always good to have a collection of books. This time a mother and daughter have been murdered, the father was assaulted and the second twin has been left traumatised and unwilling to speak. Maeve has to find out what happened to make somebody want to kill a mother and daughter, as it was not a burglary attempt gone wrong. Derwent instantly believes the father is to blame as he is an esteemed criminal lawyer, but although he does not seem to be overly upset, he has no motive for the crime, especially as it was his favourite daughter that was murdered. It doesn’t help, however that he is suspicious of the police and so keeps things back that would help the investigation, which could ultimately risk the life of his last daughter. A very unusual story which keeps you guessing as it unfolds new pieces of evidence. As with the previous books this is very well written and could be believable.

Anything Goes @ I Love Promarkers

Well it is time for an new challenge over at I Love Promarkers, and this time we have no twist - so a pure Anything Goes challenge! We are sponsored by the lovely IkesArt Digis, and I have used Daft Dogz for my card:

I kinda wanted it to be a kitty - so coloured it as though it was a kitty lol. I used - Peach/Pink Carnation/Terracotta and Umber Promarkers, and die-cut with an X-cut oval nesting die. I then inked the edge with Crushed Sapphire Distress Ink. I made a flower with peach and pink punched ovals and a blue circle and then added a felt butterfly. To finished I added the peel-off sentiment.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:
SUYP #33 Furrything Goes
AYLI - Fur or feathers (I have chosen fur this time as there is nothing better than a kitty to come and cuddle when you are feeling blue)
CCEE1831 Colouring

I thought I would now share some of my plants with you:

And also a very, very hot Doris (either that or her enclosure has turned into a swamp - not quite sure which lol),

Here is my recently completed cross stitch too - about 6-8 hours to complete:

Robins for Christmas

Hi guys,

I have a Robin rich Christmas card to share with you today! I am supposed to be getting on with doing some ATC's as I am due to exchange some, but my craft room is in disarray and I am struggling to find the bits that I received last time (I make my new ATC's using bits from the exchanges), so I decided to make this instead lol.

I used a poinsettia paper that was in my stash on a white card blank, which had an embossed frame. I then layered two panels of robin paper from Honey & Hugs Christmas paper pack onto Anitas gold card and then red card. I stamped an Adam Pescott robin with Christmas banner in gold ink onto the red card, nd another rubbing robin from the same stamp set. I then punched a snowflake from the gold card and layered this panel onto the gold card. To finish I added soe gold glitter ribbon.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
ABC Christmas - R for Robins

AYLI - Fur or Feathers (This is a difficult one - I love both. I have chosen feathers for Christmas as Robins just scream winter)
MAWTT #77 For the boys
Fussy and Fancy #217 Christmas in July
ATSM #303 Holiday

Right now I need to go and water my garden - I will have some more pictures for you next post I promise!!

and I have chosen to use Sunshine

Here is my creation, using the precoloured image:
I layered the image onto one of their other backgrounds, as I thought they worked really well together. I then die-cut using stitched square nesting dies, and used the size larger for the sand glitter card layer. I added peel-offs and paper roses to finish.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Country View #66 Sun. sea and sand (although this card does not have a beach image it does feel like a seaside creation due to the colour palette)
Cute Card Thursday #541 Anything Goes
polkadoodles - summer
catch the bug - photo inspiration (colours)

Thanks for looking (I passed my exam btw :D),

OLC Christmas

Hi there,

Another quick post in between revision!

I have a Christmas crad for you this time:
I used a pearlescent base card with stripes of music pre-printed onto it, from the Papermania Christmas Tidings range. I used a sizzix snowflake die to cut the aperture in the centre top, and then pressed a pretty colour inkpad onto the card behind to give a red/green striped background. Finally I stamped the sentiment (which was a free magazine gift) using another striped pretty colour inkpad.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Die Cuttin' Divas #380 Anything Goes
Crafty Hazelnuts Christmas #396 For a man or boy (simple design)
Simply Less is Moore #376 OLC Stripes
Intas #38 Christmas Traditions
Christmas @ Sweet Stampin' - Anything Christmas Goes

I can also share some photos of my garden from last month, that I have just realised I have not shared yet :)
