Sentimental Christmas

WOW it is December tomorrow - my Christmas stuff is down out of the attic. The first lot of the advent presents have been wrapped and hung out and my trees are on the relevant floors (albeit still in their boxes). AND I have the works Christmas do tomorrow - no idea what I am going to wear!!!

However, right at this moment I need to tell you all about our new challenge over at Aud Sentiments. This will be our last challenge of the year and the theme is Christmas.

This is a great opportunity to finish your last minute Christmas cards. And if you are just getting started, don't forget you can enter the challenge up to 5 times as long as each project is different.
You can make any type of project you want for this challenge such as a card, tag, scrapbook layout, altered item, pocket letter, box, etc.  Just make sure you follow the theme and include a sentiment.

We are sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps

I have used a sentiment image from Bugaboo, but I was unable to find it in the shop to pop the link in here (I may just be being blonde, so please do have a look yourselves!)
I coloured the image using Promarkers in traditional colours and mounted to a gold card blank. I then used some washi tape that I purchase from Aldi just the other day, down the right hand side of the card to add further glimmer to the card. As the image is the sentiment itself I did not add a further sentiment - although I will add a 'Merry Christmas' or similar to the inside once I find one that I like enough lol.

I would like to add this card into the following challenges:
C4C413 - Christmas or Winter
Sweet Stampin' - Favourite Christmas Colour - who doesn't love traditional!
MMM #60 Happy Christmas
jingle belles - Baby it's Gold outside
Winter Wonderland - Traditional Christmas colours
Christmas @ Sweet stampin' - Anything Christmas Goes

I also have some photos of Simba to share with you. I would love to say cute pictures but I do not think he fits into that category lol.

Lazy maybe hehehe. But I do also have a photo of a more active viv friend lol - Simba thinks he is his pet.

Thank you for looking,

Prancing Piggy

Welcome back to my DT post for our new challenge at Creative Moments. As always it is Anything Goes, however our twist for #132 is Pretty in Pink (can't wait to see your interpretations!).

Our fabulous sponsors for this challenge are

Who are offering 2 images to the winner
Who are offering £9/$15 Voucher to the winner

I have used Pretty Piggy from Rick St Denis for my card, and isn't she fun?!
I used a pale pink base card, of course!, and coloured the image using both Promarkers and metallic pencils. The flowers and blue of the hat are metallic pencils, the boa bits are metallic pencil topped with Promarker and the pig herself is Promarkers.

I die-cut the image, once again using the M&C stitched square die and layered this onto a border of glitter washi tape. I found a great sentiment in my topper stash, which was not only pink, but was perfect for my partying piggy!!!

I would like to enter this creation into the following challenges:
Simon Says...Wednesday - Anything Goes
Less is Moore #356 Let it shine
CCM #201 Animal Magic

I would also like to share a fish tank update - over 176hrs
Thanks for looking at my blog - do check back tomorrow for another DT post and another fun challenge :)

Winter Sparkles

Hi there,

It is time to welcome you to a new challenge over at I Love Promarkers. Our challenge theme for #348 is Autumn/Winter, which should be nice and easy at this time of year - lots of inspiration outdoors :).

Our sponsor is
The Prize for the lucky winner is
3 digital stamps
How you interpret this is completely up to you, as long as you make sure you follow the theme and you MUST use either ProMarkers, FlexMarkers, AquaMarkers or Trias on your work. If not your entry will not count towards the prize.

I have used FairyChristmas Eve  on my wintery card:
I coloured the image with Promarkers, but I forgot to note which ones I used! I added soem glitter glue to the snow and the hat.
I used M&C stitched square nesting dies to cut the image panel (from the Works). I then used a Tonic studios heart die with white glitter self-adhesive paper from X-cut to make the frame. Finally I added two foam snowflakes to the bottom. I thought this was nice without adding a sentiment, but will add one to the inside once a recipient is chosen.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

MMM #60 Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays

Neutral Christmas

Will write this post later - gotta head out quickly now, but wanted to get my entry in to CASology :)

Right I am back now and can write my blog post properly! I hate having to go shopping after work, it really throws my routine off! I have the first of my Festive ATC collections to share with you today. This one is called Festive Cheer.

I went for a neutral colour scheme using stencils and GlitzCraft texture paste in sand and gold. I was quite surprised how well the gold worked as it had gone slightly solid in the tub, but it looks perfect on the ATC's.
For this first one I used a snowflake mask for the stencil side (it states stencil on the packaging, but it really is more of a mask). I wasn't sure how well it would work as I have not used the texture pastes often, however I was quite please with how it came out. I layered it on pretty thick, which I think gives a bit of a mixed media look to the ATC. To finished I simply added a die-cut sentiment in neutral tones.

For this second one I used a GlitzCraft stencil with the Gold paste only on the bells. As I wanted neutral colours I opted to add a real ribbon bow, rather than using the stencil one. To finish this CAS design I added a peel-off sentiment. The cheer was done using white rub-on letters, which I then coloured with peel-off markers.
This final ATC I created using the Christmas Tree from the same GlitzCraft stencil. I used the Sand for the main body of the tree and the Gold for the star and baubles. Again I used the peel-off letters to create the sentiment.

So obviously I am entering these into the challenge at CASology #267 Cheer but I would also like to enter them for the following challenges:
Country View #57 Stencils
A Snowflakes Promise #46 Anything Goes
ABC Christmas - X for X marks the spot (In the Christmas Tree)
inkspirational #148 Neutral Christmas
MMM #60 Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays
AYLI - Fav Christmas colour - Anything Sparkly, as it just looks so festive. I especially like the neutral theme for CAS cards as it keeps them looking elegant.
Jingle Belles - Baby it's Gold outside
crafting by design - get ready for Christmas
C4C413 Christmas or Winter

Right off to finish off sorting stuff lol.

Underwater Birthday Wishes

Hi guys,

I can now share with you the Birthday card I made for my friend in New Zealand. I have been cross stitching the main designs for the cards and this one was no exception:

I layered a square of watercolour style paper onto a silver base card. I then layered two different patterned papers onto pale blue pearlescent card. A fish themed paper was layered ove rthe top of these to make it look like the turtle is swimming with the fish. I backed the cross stitch with white card before cutting out (and stitched on pale blue aida). Finally I added a blue and silver sentiment. You can see that the recipients initials have also been added to the shell.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
TIOT - Colourful (Very little white)
polkadoodle - Anything Goes
Kort 'o' Mania #187 Anything Goes
not just cards - Anything Goes

I have an update on my row of Christmas fairies for you guys this time:

It is coming along nicely - I may even have it finished by Christmas, although I am tryingt o get a birth sampler, fish tank and baby knnits finished by Christmas too!!!

Starry Birthday

Hi there guys,

I have a new CAS card to share with you today - following a sketch, and using a bit of Iris Folding to make a 3D element for the card.

I cut a stripe of glitter card and added star border peel-offs to each side. I used a die-cut star and Iris folded the aperture to create the 3D element for the card, using a pearlescent bronze paper, a watercolour orange paper and a Christmas tartan paper. I then added a bow and a sentiment to the star before adhering to the bottom of the glitter strip.

Here is a close up of the star:

I followed the sketch from Atlantic Hearts #239 -

I would also like to enter the following challenges:
613 Avenue create #203 3D card
Addicted to CAS #124 Bows

Digital Thanks

Hi guys,

Another card to share with you all. I used a My Craft Studio DVD for this one, however Ionly have my craft studio elite on my computer and it does not seem to be fully compatible so there were pats of the disc that I could not use :(.

However, this is what I created:
The quote I found online, on a free quotes section, but I cannot remember the card making site it was on!
The tree was a digital punch, and the others were just images from the CD-rom.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:

CAGI - Thankful/Thank You
MAWTT #58 Trees
 Fussy and Fancy #200 Thanks

Monochrome Flowers

hi there and welcome to my DT blog post for our new challenge over at Aud Sentiments. We have a nice easy theme of Anything Goes this time (I got my themes all confused so I was quite lucky it was anything goes, otherwise I would have had to start again lol). I have used the opportunity to have my sentiment as the focus of the card, as this is often more difficult when working with a digital image.

I had this paragraph on a sheet of rub-ons that I got from my mum I believe quite a while ago, and thought it would be a lovely focus for the card. The stamp is from Hero Arts and was heat embossed using Heat It Up black sparkle embossing powder. I also added a rub-on to the envelope to co-ordinate.
We would love to see what you create this time for our challenge, but there are some rules to be aware of first:

1.  As you might guess from our name - we require a SENTIMENT that is appropriate for the theme/challenge.  If you make a card and put the sentiment on the inside instead of the front, you need to include a picture on your blog post that shows us the sentiment.
2. Please mention Aud Sentiments and create a link to us.  When you enter your link at Inlinkz, it needs to go directly to your project, not just to your blog's home page.
3. You may enter up to 5 times, but all entries need to be new & posted after the start of our challenge.
HAVE FUN!

I would like to enter my card into the following challenges:
CASology #275 Sharp
Glitter 'n' Sparkle #265 Anything Goes
scrapbook stamp society #129 Anything Goes
pokadoodles - white with a hint of colour (ok may be more than a hint :P)

I received two lovely packages from my ATC exchange group:

I layered a square of brown pearlescent paper onto the red card base, after aso wrapping this with the washi tape, but on the opposite corner. I then layered the image panel over this. I added a chipboard owl and hedgehog, and then some diamantes too for a little bit of celebratory sparkle.

Singing for the male of the house

Hello everybody,

After a busy day out learning how to use a kayak yesterday, I stayed at home and did some crafting while he went out and did an intro to white water kayaking! I have also completed the fern edge of my garden, but I still need to take a photograph. I also had to rescue my extra large garden spider, as she was hiding in one of the plants I was planting and I hadn't realised, and when I popped it in the hole, she nearly ended up being buried alongside it, and couldn't get out of the hole!! Poor arachnid! I did pick her out of the hole and popped her on the fence - with her rather large bottom lol - it is the size of a 20 pence piece and about 1.5cm thick too!

Anyway, here is my card creation!
I used some Tiddly Inks stamps that came free with Quick Cards magazine a year or so ago for the main image. I paper pieced the images, and coloured the remaining arears with watercolour pencils, which helped me get the shading in her hair.
The sentiment was from a Smirk christmas stamp set, and was stamped using a Pretty Colour green and red split ink pad. Finally I added a few masculine diamantes and pearls.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
crafting by design - Winter Sparkle (glitter in the black and red papers, and diamante sparkle too)
ATSAM #267 Make your mark
CCEE 1745 - Masculine card

Firework Love

As promised I have another card to share with you today. This is another CAS design, but I may have gone slightly too clean. Should I add something more to either of the other corners do you think?

The heart in the bottom right is just a watermark and is not actually part of the card!

This was really simple to make - I die-cut the sentiment from Joanna Sheen onto X-cut self-adhesive glitter sheet, and peeled off small pieces of feather to pop behind the sentiment. I then added three bright feathers to the opposite corners and topper with a sparkly purple flower (I had to stick the feathers using cellotape so needed to cover this up!)

Once again any feedback, or improvements to this particular card, are much appreciated!

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Simply Less is Moore #353 Colour week - Fireworks
modsquad - it's all in the colour
card mania #98 Anything Goes

I also have an update on my fish tank for you:

Now at 172hr48!

White Christmas

Hi there,

I have attempted a white on white Christmas card today. I used a 3x3" card blank to try and make it a little easier lol.

So I used some X-cut textured self-adhesive paper with Joanna Sheen's holly border die, to make a border panel. The border die was used across the top and underneath, to make a border piece as it is designed to fancy the edge of the card, rather than creating a separate border. I then simply used a white peel-off for the sentiment to finish the card. Please do leave me some feedback on this as I would like to get better with my white-on-what creations!

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
CASology #274 Tiny (the card size)
Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - Snow White
Deep Ocean #167 Inspired by a song/movie (White Christmas)
Addicted to CAS #123 Leaves (in the ivy)
Kort 'o' mania #186 Winter
ABC christmas - W for White and X for X marks the spot (in the ivy panel :) )
dragonfly dreams - winter

I also have a photo of my finished Advent Calender!!

I added the numbers using glittery red fabric paint :)

Please check back tomorrow for another card and an update on ym fishtank.

Fast and Furious at 30

Hi there,

I was commissioned to make this card a little while ago. I got the image from KennyK just before they closed their on-line shop, and I think she makes a wonderful male birthday card!

I coloured her with Promarkers (no surprise there), but I don't quite think I got the shading right on the boots! The bike was lsightly confusing to colour as there were lots of bits that just seemed to be floating, however I think I figured it out in the end - it looks like a motorbike anyway lol.

I kept the layout pretty simple - rounding the corners of the image, adding a black peel-off, stamping the age and heat embossing with black embossing powder, and writing the recipients name. I used a black base card and stamped some cogs from Crafter's Companion along the edges, and heat embossed in bronze before layering the image panel on top.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Card Making and Papercraft - Magic Metallic
scrapbook stamp society -Anything Goes
inkspirational #147 Trend (Cogs are very trendy for male cards - and the girl looks very trendy too)
addicted-to-stamps #156 Autumn (I have used autumnal colours)
catch the bug - Anything Goes

I got the last of my potatoes out of their pot:

And also took a photo of my very naughty bunny, who insists on digging my garden for me!!

Thanks for looking and please check back again soon,

Simple Christmas Tidings

Hey everybody,

I have a simple Christmas card to share with you today.

To make this card I used a tag design, and the free nesting Tag dies I got with the same magazine. I added this to the front of a frame embossed base card. I then used Papermania Christmas Tidings stamps and toppers to add some more details to the card - like I said nice and simple. I used the toppers that featured animals for the bottom two.

I would like to enter this card for the following challenges:
City Crafter #386 Little snowflake - one snowflake featured on the sentiment tag only.
Deep Ocean #167 Inspired by a song/movie - White Christmas
AYLI - Christmas or non-Christmas - I do enjoy making Christmas cards and I have lots of different toppers!
Jingle Belles - Not a creature was stirring
Kort 'O' Mania #186 Winter
Simply Create Too #133 CAS

And here are some more halloween pictures for you:

We are sponsored by Inspired by StampingJust don't forget that all important sentiment!!

I have used the new progressive challenge image from Limited Runs - isn't he just a little cutie?

I coloured the image using Promarkers, and then die cut using X-cut scalloped circles nesting dies. I used a handcrafted card blank and added some silver glitter ribbon strips on the left and bottom to frame the image. I added a hessian flower over the join and a blue diamante to the centre of this. Finally I added a birthday sentiment as my owl themed sentiment was too big! Grrr.

As you can see I used the bingo row of Flower - Image - Ribbon.
