Lucky Beach Kitties

Well after all it is alomost time for going to the beach - hurry up sunshine!! I am going to plant some pumpkin seeds and some brussels seeds tonight - as soon as I have written this blog in fact lol. I don't have an allotment but I am sure I can find somewhere in the garden to put them when they are big - maybe?? lol.

So here is the card I wish to share with you all today - my little lucky kitties:
To start with I used a Distress Ink along the bottom of the card to create the sand (I can't remember which colour it was!). I then used my Papermania Pastel brush markers to highlight the sand and make the dunes more obvious, as well as add some grassy tufts. I used the same pen set to colour the sea. I then added more of the Distress Ink in a thicker patch, which I used to create a treasure chest. I then used lots of stickers to create the scene - colouring some in with the markers. The hubby did look at me strange when I added the waves, but he does agree that it looks good with the border now it is finished lol. The final part was to add the treasure, so I got several flat-backed rhinestones and glued them into place above the chest. The remaining area was covered with PVA glue and sprinkled with gold glitter. I am actually quite pleased at how it turned out.

I would like to enter this creation into the following challenges:
open-minded crafting #15 Movement in March (movement of the waves)
SUYP #16 St Cat-ericks Day (rainbow - green kitties - treasure)
Kort 'o' mania #173 Card for a man
Addicted to CAS #107 Seaside (ok doesn't look overly CAS but it is honest!)
inkspirational #141 Photo Inspiration (I used the magical element from the photo)

I also have some more pictures from our holiday to share with you - these ones are from Tropiquaria in Devon, not far from Minehead itself. It is a lovely place and the animals are obviously very well looked after, although some of the enclosures are a little run-down.
Meet Ollie - he loves attention but is not too keen on people - as long as you don't try to get too close he is a little clown!

Then there are a few other little birdies flying around.

And this is Larry who came all the way over from his homeland in somebodies luggage!!
Here are a couple of pictures of some Field mice - extremey cute!

And the wildcat that would love to eat many of the field mice (and maybe also the birds)
These little Otters were just too cute! They certainly make you believe they have never been fed - even five minutes after you have just watched them eat enough to make them sick lol.

More mice - hubby was obssessed - he even fed one some millet!

And finally the elegant peacock, displaying to a decidedly uninterested juvenile female!

Thank you for looking,

Hugz Tinz
