Blooms and Butterflies

 Hi guys,

I have a card to share with you today that has not been made for one of my DT challenges!

I used distress oxide sprays for the background in Cracked Pistachio and Mermaid Lagoon, and blended them together with a sponge. I stamped the leave onto white card with black ink, and then stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set onto the side. I cut this into a square and then added a die cut flower. I added a flat-backed stone to the centre of the flower. I added this panel to the card centre and then added some butterfly washi tape across the bottom of the panel. To finish I added a die-cut butterfly, of which I inked the wings before adding to the card base.

Banner Time

 Hey guys,

Our new challenge starts today over at I Love Promarkers, with the optional theme to add a banner.

Here is my creation, using an image from Last Minute Manda who is our wonderful sponsor.

I used a patterned paper I found in my stash as the background. After colouring the gnome with the promarkers (to be listed below) I fussy cut him to add to the card base. I then cut out the banner topper.

Trees at Christmas

 Hi there,

Our September challenge started yesterday over at Creative Moments, with the optional theme of adding trees to your creation.

Here is my Christmas creation for this challenge theme;

I wanted to use up some of my stash, so I used a new green base card (it looks grey in this photo for some reason) and an old paper pack that was free with a magazine. I used X-cut large label dies to cut the patterned paper. I then cut a tag from the topper section of the paper pack. I pierced a hole through the card and added the star brad. Finally I added a sentiment sticker to the card front.

Gnome at Halloween

 Hi guys,

Our new challenge has started over at I Love Promarkers with the optional theme of Gnomes. We are sponsored by the wonderful Polkadoodles and here is my creation.

I coloured the image using Promarkers and then fussy cut her out. I took a plain white oval die-cut and used distressed sprays in Ocean Spray and Iced Spruce, after using a shimmer body spray over the shape. I layered my witch gnome over the top of this and then added liquid pearl drops to the sky. As I often do I have left the sentiment off to be added once the card is allocated to a recipient.

Butterflies/Dragonflies

 Hi guys,

Our new challenge starts today over at MAWTT. We had a break while blog ownership changed hands but we are now back in full force :)

Here is my creations for this months challenge:

It is coming to the end of summer and we will be seeing the last of these for the remaining months of the year, so what better theme to have for September?!

I used my die-cuts on some x-cut self-adhesive glitter paper. I also used a Marianne Designs die to create the flower, using mirror card and self-adhesive glitter paper. To finish I used a metallic ink pad for The Range and a stamp set that came free with a magazine.

Arial and Flounder

 Hey guys,

We have a new challenge started today at I Love Promarkers, with the optional theme of 'inspired by a film'. I have used this little mermaid from our sponsor Paper Nest Dolls Digis, to recreate Arial and Flounder from Disney's The Little Mermaid.

I coloured her using my chameleon pens and then fussy cut the image. I used a sea-green base card and die-cut some bubble patterned paper using large label X-cut dies. I then rounded the corner of a patterned paper from a 3x3 paper stack from the Range and layered this over the top. I have not added a sentiment as I thin this card can be used for a variety of occasions, and so will add a sentiment as required.

Black and White - and Gnomes

 Welcome to August and we have a new challenge started over at I Love Promarkers, with the optional theme of Black and White.

Here is my creations, using an image from our lovely sponsor - Sheepski.

The image was coloured with Promarkers and then square cut according to the boundaries of the image. I layered a piece of black paper over the centre of a base card and added a washi tape strip across the bottom. I then added my image and finished with snowflake peel-offs.

Embossed floral

 Hi guys,

Our new challenge started today over at Creative Moments with the optional theme of Embossing. Our lovely sponsor is Sheepski, and here is my creation.

I used a piece of embossed paper from my stash - I cannot remember which embossing folder was used for this as it was my mums. I layered this onto a textured base card. he image was actually coloured with pencils this time and the fussy cut before adding to the card front, along with a foiled sentiment.

SuperHeroes - those that help

 Hi guys,

We have a new challenge today over at I Love Promarkers, with the optional theme of 'Super Heroes'. This will run for a month for the summer holidays. The sponsor for this challenge is the fatastic Dr Digi House of Stamps.

I coloured the image using Promarker pens - you can use any markers on your design!

I then created a matt with blue pearlescent card. I added a green pearlescent card and some circles to the card front, and finished with a 3D sentiment panel.

Use a die-cut

 Hey guys,

We have a new challenge started over at Creative Moments, and our optional theme is to use a die-cut, and our sponsor is All Dressed Up.

Here is my creation:

I coloured the image with Promarkers and then die-cut using an x-cut scalloped circle. I also cut an x-cut ornate label from red card and added a peel-off sentiment. I made an easel base card and added this panel to that. To finish I added flat backed pearls and washi tape.

Masculine

 We are in July already and our new challenge at MAWTT is make something Masculine. I decided to create some backgrounds using masking as I haven't done this in a while.

I made a selection of cards based on the same theme, but for different occasions. I used a background stamp () for the main image, and the background pattern on some of the cards. I simply stamped this in purple ink. Once this had dried on the white card, I used xxx in various neon colours and blended them together to make the background, using a mask of the birdhouse. I then coloured the birdhouse itself, with the same ink, using the reverse mask. I mounted all of the images on a plain sky blue layer before adding to the base cards.

For this card I simply matted my layer onto a square of purple pearlescent card and added a peel-off sentiment to finish.

This time I used the background stamp to make a bottom border along the card. I used the sentiment stamp and purple ink to create a sentiment patterned paper to add my layer to. Finally I added circles to create a pattern in the bottom corner.

For this card I added the sentiment in black ink, underneath a plain coloured matt on the base card. I tore a strip of cream paper to matt my layer onto. Finally I added some mini bows to the bottom of the matt.

For the final card I used a purple pearlescent base card and stamped the full background over this. I then added the torn layer, as per the previous card. The sentiment was again stamped in black ink.

Magical

 Hi guys,

Our new optional theme over at I Love Promarkers, is - magical.

Here is my little wizard using an image from our lovely sponsor - Color of Love.

I die-cut a gold panel for the background, then added strips of starry patterned paper. I coloured my Wizard with Promarkers and then fussy cut him, before adding to the card base. To finish I added some peel-off stars around some of the stars on the patterned paper.

Summertime!

 Hi guys,

We have a new challenge starting today at I Love Promarkers, where the only requirement is to use markers on your project. Our optional theme is 'Summertime'.

Here is my creation for the challenge, using one of the gnomes from Last Minute Manda.

 Hey guys,

We are now in June - I am looking forward to having a weeks holiday at the end of the month! Our challenge for the month at MAWTT is Birthday.

I coloured an image from my stash using promarker pens. I have been unable to determine who supplied this image, s if anybody knows then please let me know so I can update this post. I layered the image onto a blue woodgrain patterned paper. I then took a Happy Birthday Digistamp which was also coloured with Promarkers, inked the edge of this with blue ink and added this to the base card underneath the image.

Pink Flowers

Thinly Patterned Mouse Wishes

Transport delights

 We have a new challenge starting today over at I Love Promarkers, with the optional theme of Transport. I chose to use a lovely steam train image from our sponsor Sheepski.

I coloured the image with Promarkers before fussy cutting. I layered a tie-dye style patterned paper onto a white card blank. I then layered a scrap piece of patterned paper, with rainbows and a cloud top edge, onto the top of this paper. I then added the image with the smoke from the train becoming the clouds at the top of the rainbow. To finish I simply added a sentiment peel-off.

Prickly Patterned Paper

 Hey everybody,

Our new challenge has started today over at Creative Moments, with the optional theme of Patterned Paper.

I have used cactus family from our sponsor Polkadoodles. Firstly I coloured the image with Promarkers and then fussy cut. I added a patterned paper from my scraps stash to the bottom of a lilac card blank and then layered the image on top of this. To finish I punched some dragonflies from another piece of scrap patterned paper.

 Hi there,

I wanted to heat emboss some die-cut butterflies and add to a card, however I still haven't been able to unpack my heat gun, so I was unable to do this. Therefore, I used some double-sided peel-offs and white glitter, and then added brads to the top corner.

Masculine Birthday

 Hi everybody.

The weather is absolutely lovely this week! We have a new challenge at I Love Promarkers, with the optional theme of Masculine. I have used a birthday cake image from our sponsor Dr Digi - coloured with Promarkers and then fussy cut.

I used a Kraft card base and then used a 3x3 paper pad from The Range with a nature theme to find a suitable patterned paper. I chose a wooden disc themed paper as I thought the colours worked well with the image. I then layered the image centrally and added the birthday peel-offs to finish.

CAS with wings

 Hey guys,

Our challenge went live late over at Creative Moments, as I lost track of time, however it is live now and our optional theme, sponsored by the lovely Sheepski, is CAS, and here is my card using 'Steampunk and Gothic':

I coloured the image using Promarker pens and then fussy cut it out. It overhangs the KRAFT card base just nicely making the image pop a little more than it would otherwise, and giving a feeling of flight. I then added some peel-offs to finish the design, keeping it very clean otherwise. I didn't add a sentiment as I think this is a card that can be used for various occasions.

Spring Flowers

 Hi guys,

Our new challenge for April, over at MAWTT, is Spring Flowers. This is perfect as the garden is now in full bloom and looking lovely, with lots of insects life. I even saw my first two butterflies at the weekend - one peacock and one red admiral. Here is my card.

I used a Hunkydory foiled pyramage kit and then simple added a strip of glitter paper and a sentiment. I think these designs are simply stunning.

I used tails in my image and wings on my papers.

I coloured the image using my Promarkers and then fussy cut. I layered a butterfly patterned paper that originally came from a magazine, although I cannot remember which one, onto an A5 card blank. I die cut some butterflies into the card blank first as the paper is double sided, so when the card is opened you see the other patterned paper on the inside. To finish I added a 3D sentiment.

Gardening Guest Designer spot

I used a Country Companions card making kit that I have had for a while and never had the opportunity to use. It is an A4 decoupage card, with an central aperture. I had fun layering all the pieces together for this one.

Pets at MAWTT

 Our theme for March over at MAWTT is pets. I did decide to make a card based on conventional pets, but I do not actually own a kitty. My menagerie consists of 2 red-rumped parakeets, 1 hognose snake, 2 bearded dragons, around 60 tarantulas, 4 Guinea Pigs (I lost one of the younger ones last week :() and several types of beetle and isopod.

Anyway - here is my conventional card.

I made an stepper fold card for this one. he front panel is a separate fold to the back part of the card. I layered a paw print paper over the front panel and added a mouse sticker and a peel-off sentiment. I added a panel of black and white striped paper from my odds and ends stash. I added a fish-tank sticker to this panel. To the other side I added a kitty topper.

Sparkle and Shine

 Hey guys,

Our new challenge started this morning over at I Love Promarkers, with the optional theme of sparkle and shine.

Here is my creation using an image from Colour of Love.

I coloured my image using Promarkers and the cut round the frame. I added glitter card is several blues to the card front panels (I went for an easel design for my card base). To finish I added a dragonfly Anita's peel-off. I have left space for a sentiment once it is decided.

Cute with All Dressed Up

 Hi all,

We have a new challenge starting today over at Creative Moments. Our DT have been very busy, so their cards will be shared a little later, so just keep popping over to the blog to see what they have created. As our optional theme is cute, and I think mice are very cute, I used mice on my card.

I coloured the image from All Dressed up, using Promarkers before fussy cutting. I then used a bow, peel-off sentiment, flower and butterfly embellishments to finish off the card.

Here is my creation.

I used a patterned paper to make a layer on the base card. I then stamped a dragonfly in pink ink onto the dark background paper. The image did not show up as well as I had hoped, so I used a peel-off over the top of this. I then used another butterfly sticker and some flower stickers.

Turtle in the Spring

 Hi guys,

We have a new challenge starting today at I Love Promarkers, with the optional theme of Springtime. Do pop over to the blog to find details of our sponsor and see other images being used. However, for my card I have used one of the Springtime turtles from the set.

I made a gatefold card with a purple base card and layered a panel of patterned card to the front to overlap the panels when the card is closed. I then fussy cut the turtle and the sentiment that goes woth it and added this to the front panel after colouring with promarkers. I then added peel-off butterflies to the front panel and the inside left panel which opens against the layer.

Winter Blues

Our first challenge over at Creative Moments in 2025 is a just for fun one - although the DT favourite playing the twist will still win some peel-offs. Our theme is always anything goes - this month the twist is Winter Blues. We also have some exciting news and a DT call, so do pop over to the blog itself.

I kept it simple, using some foam stickers and peel-offs for my card.

Flowers

 Hi there,

Our first challenge of 2025 starts today over at MAWTT, with the theme of Thank You. I decided to try a new card fold for mine.

The card can open several different ways to give different views of the panels. As it is still supposed to be Winter (although I think it thinks it is Autumn with all the rain!), I went for an overall winter theme for my thank you card.

If I had thought about it I could have done a progress photo board, but I didn't until I had finished :(
